    Terrible Printer

    • Written by from New York

Runs through ink cartridges quickly and stops printing with virtually no warning when it runs out of even one color. E.g., if it runs out of yellow, it won't even print a black & white page. Besides the expense of ink cartridges, it's just a major inconvenience when you ned to print and it simply stops. And the really fun part is that not many stores carry the refills.

This is a terrible product. Runs out of ink quickly and constantly losses connection with computer. I am very very very very disappointed. What a let down. I tried to get extra support from epson to help fix situations and that was not productive!!!

    Has potential

    • Written by from Westport

I was originally impressed with this product because it was so easy to set up and use. Picked up wi-fi immediately. The more you use it ...you learn how much ink it consumes. Although those cartridges are available on Amazon at a very good price.
Unfortunately, as we now own this printer one year ....it's starting to print and stall intermittently. It has to be rebooted too often and it showing signs of a short life expectancy.

    Not good for light users

    • Written by from San Francisco

I loved this printer when I first got it. Small, compact, printed great. But after a few months of very light use, the black ink would print very spotty. Selecting the option on the printer to clean the print nozzle worked the first few times. Eventually no black ink would print at all, even after replacing the black ink.

Apparently, Epson printers are known for their print heads getting clogged. Especially for someone who doesn't print often. I was told having the printer repaired is as expensive or more expensive than buying a new printer. What a waste. I hate to throw an otherwise flawless printer in the trash, because of this little Epson flaw.

If you do have this printer and it's working fine still, you may wish to print a few sheets of printer outs at least once a week. I heard that helps keep the print head from clogging.

    Do not buy

    • Written by from Cherry

Worst printer ever!! used it twice and had to change the black. Then it wouldn't print black and hasn't printed since. Tried many things and now it is saying blue is out. Never used blue! Bought it in Aug. with my two new laptops from the apple store. What a hunk of junk! No more epson.

    Loses Connection constantly

    • Written by from Boise

Loses wifi connection constantly, which is incredibly frustrating. To enter the password is a slow and tedious process as the entry is not simple. It has now (after about 6 months of use) quit printing properly. Have cleaned it, bought new ink, and still it's now printing. I really don't recommend this printer.

    A Piece of Junk

    • Written by from New York

I have had the same problems as others. Printer failed immediately. Problem with the ink cartridges. Replacement printer was sent by Epson. That printer failed as well after one print job. Same problem -- black ink cartridge. Epsom is now sending me a black ink cartridge to see if a new one will fix the problem. Stay away from this printer. Nothing but headaches and Apple should not promote such a product through its store. Will never purchase an Epson product again.

    Terrible!!!! Terrible!!!! Terrible!!!!!

    • Written by from Sarasota

Worst printer I ever owned. Stops printing unless you buy more and more ink. Eats up ink like a paper towel to water. When color ink ran out I printed black and white, now it disallows that also. XL ink to fill all over $100 - what a rip off!!!

'epson sent 2 replacements! still bad!

    • Written by from Roanoke

Horrible printer! I've had issues with not putting ink on paper. After calling Epson, they sent me a replacement, same problem, right out of the box! They sent a 3rd printer. Different issues with this printer. Asking to turn off and back on when mid-print. of course doesnt pick up where it left off. Once wi-fi has been set and working, just decided to stop working. doesnt recognize when replaced ink cart. just one problem after another. DONT BUY this one!

    Was good....

    • Written by from Richfield

this was a great printer and set up was super fast... could print from every device in my house.
then the ink started running out super fast
and then shortly after purchasing the black ink head plugged so much for no reason that the printer is now broken

I am very tech savvy and know how to fix things as well as maintain them... this printer just stopped with no warning and was not fixable after a few months of owning

Bad Quality Printer. Waste of Money, Effort and Consumer confidence

    • Written by from Pierrefonds

Bad Quality printer that not only runs out of ink quickly when it just has been replaced but hardly stays connected to wi-fi. Every now and then I would have to uninstall and install the printer to re-establish a connection. This printer does not print in aligned format. so you'd have the words on your paper not regimented and going sideways. No more EPSON products for me. Apple should reconsider not keeping this product on its website. Don't lose your money on this product.

    Does Not Work Consistently

    • Written by from NEW YORK

Seems like i have to enter the network password every time I want to print via Air print from a different device. Very difficult to set up. Should be just plug and play, but that is not the case. Also, no customer service on Sundays.

Also, very slow to recognize devices over my network. Frustrating to say the least.

I am computer semi dumb. I had never ever hooked up a printer before. I decided to take on the challenge and it was so easy, and it worked. I have a Mac and no USB cable, so I had to hook up the wireless on the printer. It walked me through it and it is working just as described. Gave me confidence that I might be able to do this again by myself.

    What a piece of junk!

    • Written by from MAHWAH

This printer is slow, clunky, user-unfriendly piece of junk. The menus are cumbersome and lengthy, takes forever to find the simplest function (like, replace the cartridge). Takes forever to start printing, uses lots of (expensive) ink, would not accept compatible cartridges and stopped printing cyan after just a month of use with original cartridge! I cleaned and cleaned the head to no result, still not working. It's a total slug, printing speed is so slow. Can't believe I bought this piece of garbage that now has to be thrown out after just over a month of use! What a disappointment. Don't buy this.

    So far so good

    • Written by from Kettering

A good printer so far. Just installed everything to our network and was able to print from my iMac and iPad wirelessly. Print speed is mediocre but suitable. Print colors are bright and clear. This printer was only purchased for occasional personal use at home, so it does the job. If you are looking for something for heavy printing, I'd recommend investing in something a little more heavy duty. Still recommend it for normal use though.

I honestly don't know what all the bad press is about. I set this little order up in about 10 minutes. It connected, printed and scanned flawlessly. Will revise my review if that changes, but so far so good.

    Ink Selling Junk

    • Written by from Boston

Epson XP410 is here to sell you ink. It tells you you are out of ink before you are, and if it decides you are "low" on any color, you can't print in black. Plus the photo printing quality is awful.

    No black ink

    • Written by from University Place

replaced black ink cartridge with 200XL and a few months later I'm not getting ANY black ink printing, can't print or copy anything at all, just gives me blank pages, despite cleaning headers, checking nozzles, alignment, whatever, you name it. Would like to have this fixed, kind of a waste otherwise.

    Boat Anchor

    • Written by from Bloomfield Hills

Stay away from this printer. If you do not use if for a few days the printer head clogs and eventually it can never be unclogged. When it worked, it worked well. When it stopped working, which was frequently, it was infuriating. Back to HP or Lexmark.
