DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. DON'T BUY IT. DON'T.

    • Written by from North Yarmouth

This printer is awful. I've had it for just a few months and suddenly the black ink just plain doesn't work. I've tried cleaning the nozzle but nothing, just blank strips with a black line every now and then, while all the rest of the colors work fine. It wouldn't be so bad if you could move the print head assembly back and forth to try and unclog the front side of the nozzles by yourself (besides taking the cartridge out and sticking a q-tip in the point which didn't help me), but the thing is stuck in there and you can only "clean" it through troubleshooting. The printer ghost in the machine just wants you to buy more ink, do the "head cleaning" (which is just the printer sucking out tons and tons of ink which all gets smeared into the collecting sponge anyway which they don't allow you to clean by hand the way other printers would), run out of ink that way, and ultimately buy more ink. This is not a printer. It's a scam machine; its sole purpose is to get you to buy more ink and another printer and tear your hair out researching how to unclog nozzles manually, only to find this "newer, more efficient model" doesn't let you do that. Wish I had registered the thing when I bought it so I could get a replacement (and then another replacement, and another, and another), but rather, what I truly need is a time machine, to go back to when I got the printer and not get it. Then my problem would be solved.

    Piece of Junk

    • Written by from Jacksonville

I have had this printer for less than a year and it will no longer print black. I've tried cleaning the cartridge head, replacing the cartridge, and still nothing. From reading other reviews it looks like I'm not the only customer having this problem. I'm surprised that Apple would offer this in their store!

Hate this printer- do not buy

    • Written by from holladay

I bought this printer for school. I had the old HP printer that Apple used to sell for almost 10 yrs before i had to replace it. This printer NEVER WORKS. Every time I use it, my laptop it says the printer is not connected, or can't find it. This has happened EVERY TIME i use it. I regret buying this printer, and wish I had shopped around more.

    No Support Available

    • Written by from Amarillo

After 6 months the printer quit working with all of my devices (PC, Laptop, iPhone, iPad.) The DVD included with the printer will not load on PC or laptop. The drivers that I downloaded from Epson do not work. The printer is useless and a waste of my money. If I could give negative stars I would.

Will not by Epson printer again

    • Written by from Va Beach

I have owned this printer for over a year and and print very. Magenta and Cayen were low and black ink would not print at all so I replaced the M and C and still no black ink printing. Yellow was at 15% so I replaced it and now I get black ink printing but quality is not legible! Waste of time, ink and money. Buyer beware!!

TERRIBLE- waste of money, runs out of ink VERY fast.

    • Written by from Brooklyn

This was an very inexpensive printer- we got it for $69. BUT In less than a MONTH we have had to buy two full sets of replacement cartridges, and the ink jets clog constantly (printing with lines) and every time you clean it, it eats up even more ink. I think we've spent more money on ink than the printer is worth, and we just bought it! Not to mention it keeps loosing the Wifi signal. Never had these issues with our HP. Regret getting an Epson.

    Ink Selling Junk

    • Written by from Boston

Epson XP410 is here to sell you ink. It tells you you are out of ink before you are, and if it decides you are "low" on any color, you can't print in black. Plus the photo printing quality is awful.

    Confirming this is junk

    • Written by from New York

Yes, this is quite simply junk. A small time elapsed in no printing and now clogged heads, no printing and when it did print, it guzzled ink like a Cadillac Escalade guzzles gas. Pathetic attempt at extorting $ from customers. Lesson learned - HP, Lexmark, Canon - anyone but Epson.

    I Think I Have A Problem...

    • Written by from Lexington

My Epson Expression Home XP-410 Small-in-One Printer seems to have some issues. I did notice a serious clogging issue, as has been mentioned. It was problematic, but I soaked the printer heads in some paint thinner and that cleared up. I started have some feeder issues, as pages seemed to eject with some force. These are all problems I'm familiar with. However, it started doing something I've not seen before. First it spit out a page that I do not remember printing. It was some sort of elaborate geometric shape, circular in nature, but with lots of intersecting lines. There appeared to be characters around and in it that I couldn't identify. I puzzled over it for a moment and tosssed it in the bin. However, not an hour later I found another page on the floor. I'd heard it printing from the dining room, ran in and there was the pattern. I again threw it away. I was indisposed and heard another page print. I sprinted in, and it sat on the floor in the middle of my office. I left it laying there and waited. Another page printed out, this one covered in words in some language I couldn't identify. It shot out of the feeder tray, and landed next to the graphic that spat out first. Then another page of text, and another. Which each page, the lights in the room seemed to dim, the smell of sulphur seemed to grow, and I was overcome with a sense of dread. Well, my mother raised no fools, so I immediately hopped on here to write this complaint. Even know I can hear what I can only describe as a rising cacophony. I do not know what is coming through, but if this is what I can expect from Epson then I will j

    Epson fails again

    • Written by from Pleasant Prairie

I actually gave Epson a chance even having sworn off their horrible products in the past. For a time I worked as an internal sales consultant for a popular reseller and would steer customers away from their junk if possible. So I gave them a chance and have had the same negative results as the previous users. Works great for a little while, set up was easy, loved sending print jobs from my phone then....nothing. Now it prints faintly and burns through ink at a ridiculous pace when it actually prints. Clearly a problem with the nozzles or print heads that and despite all the efforts to clean and realign etc, it's now just a paperweight. Going back to Lexmark. Those of you that posted positive comments will soon be in the same boat as the rest of us with bad experiences.

Stay away from this printer. If you do not use if for a few days the printer head clogs and eventually it can never be unclogged. When it worked, it worked well. When it stopped working, which was frequently, it was infuriating. Back to HP or Lexmark.

If You Are a MAC User Stay Away from the EPSON Home XP-410 Printer

    • Written by from RALEIGH

I've had this Epson printer XP 410 for use with my MAC Mini for about 3 months. It replaced a clunky HP printer.

The Epson XP 410 has only worked properly the first week of using it, after that it either does not print at all or prints poorly even when loaded with new Epson ink. I spent hours with Epson tech support only to have them try to get me to buy a file cleaning program for $100.00.

I cannot rely on this printer, it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you'll get.

Even when it "works" it eats ink like crazy and don't be fooled to think you can print in black ink to save color, you can't.

Well, it's time for me to go back to HP printers which over the years were much more reliable.

Same problem as other Black ink printing not working after one month

    • Written by from Bullhead City

I bought this printer during one the the spring sales at my local office store.
It worked great for the month I really needed it. I probably did about 10 jobs, using up to a total of 60 pages and 1/3 of the color cartridges and 2/3 of the black cartridge. Today I tried to print a small essay and no black ink showed up. I checked cartridges, tried a reset, proceeded to take all the maintenance steps, etc, but still no luck. I am going to return the printer today --exactly one month after I purchased it.

    What a piece of junk!

    • Written by from MAHWAH

This printer is slow, clunky, user-unfriendly piece of junk. The menus are cumbersome and lengthy, takes forever to find the simplest function (like, replace the cartridge). Takes forever to start printing, uses lots of (expensive) ink, would not accept compatible cartridges and stopped printing cyan after just a month of use with original cartridge! I cleaned and cleaned the head to no result, still not working. It's a total slug, printing speed is so slow. Can't believe I bought this piece of garbage that now has to be thrown out after just over a month of use! What a disappointment. Don't buy this.

this was a great printer and set up was super fast... could print from every device in my house.
then the ink started running out super fast
and then shortly after purchasing the black ink head plugged so much for no reason that the printer is now broken

I am very tech savvy and know how to fix things as well as maintain them... this printer just stopped with no warning and was not fixable after a few months of owning

    A Piece of Junk

    • Written by from New York

I have had the same problems as others. Printer failed immediately. Problem with the ink cartridges. Replacement printer was sent by Epson. That printer failed as well after one print job. Same problem -- black ink cartridge. Epsom is now sending me a black ink cartridge to see if a new one will fix the problem. Stay away from this printer. Nothing but headaches and Apple should not promote such a product through its store. Will never purchase an Epson product again.

    • Written by from Sarasota

Worst printer I ever owned. Stops printing unless you buy more and more ink. Eats up ink like a paper towel to water. When color ink ran out I printed black and white, now it disallows that also. XL ink to fill all over $100 - what a rip off!!!
