    Ihealth upper arm blood pressure machine

    After buying many regular blood pressure monitors that stopped working after only a few months I bought the Ihealth bp monitor. I could not be happier! My doctor kept telling me that I was over medicated when my old monitors kept showing my bp to be high. When I started using the ihealth machine I realized how right he was! My blood pressure (with medication) is stable 95% of the time.

    I am very pleased with my purchase!

    Scary!

    I bought this product thinking it would be great to use, in conjunction with an exercise regime, to monitor BP changes over time. Huge disappointment because the device gives consistently high (very high) readings. Falsely thinking that with enough complaints, something to correct the problem either through software or replacement devices would come along, and, I did not return the unit (I live 3 hours away from the store) and tend to be optimistic. Now ... I am stuck with a useless BP wrist cuff! I wish there was a fix.

    iHealth Wireless BP Wrist Monitor Outstanding

    Great device, bluetooth link to my iPad Air and iPhone5s seamless. Intuitive device with onscreen instructions that even an engineer can understand (why waste the paper on the instructions never used them)! Checked its reliability against BP monitor at Doctor's office +/-2%. on ten samples. My Doctor bought one after I introduced it to her.

    misleading

    I am a physician. Had high hopes for this device but after trying it for 2 weeks and comparing found it routinely calculated the diastolic reading too high. Actually I had a medicine change because of this device. Later found out it was completely inaccurate. Tried it on 6 teenagers for fun, and if we are to believe the readings all of them would be put on medicine.
    This is a dangerous device and in no way would I recommend it. Later I found out from a nephrologist that this particular device is infamous for misleading patients.
    Do NOT buy this

    Great product, once you figure out how to use it.

    Got this for my Dad to monitor his blood pressure. It is easy to download the app and pair the device with Bluetooth. At first we were getting really high readings, which probably didn't help his blood pressure, but we found if he sat on a couch with a deeper seat, and rested his arm on a higher armrest (with a pillow) he was getting very accurate readings. Make sure this is level with you're heart, and you are not tense, and it works really well. He likes the fact that he can track trends to see how he is doing, and uses it a couple of times a day! Great device, just be patient with it.

    Save your money

    I purchased this BPM to have an easier way to log my daily blood pressure readings. The interface to the IPhone works fine and is wasy to master. The problem is that the monitor itself is wildly inaccurate. I have a large old school manual tester that I have checked it against and this wrist monitor always gives consistently higher readings (much higher).

    Unless you want to terrify yourself, save your money and buy something more conventional. I really liked the product concept but an inaccurate monitor is really useless.

    Good idea, woefully inaccurate

    This product is a good idea, but it reads inconsistently compared not only to successive readings a few minutes apart, but compared to an old Omron home unit (arm cuff style, but otherwise reads out automatically to a display). And in the doctors office, compared to her properly calibrated device.

    The iHealth unit reads higher than actual in general, but in successive reading 3 minutes or so apart, the reading varies by over 20 point (like 151 to 131; actual BP is 124).

    As another poster said, maybe the unit must be positioned EXACTLY correctly on the wrist. But most people won't get it that perfect all the time, and compared with an arm cuff, which is easy to position, it's just not ready for prime time yet.

    The iPad / iPhone app works perfectly; offline readings are easy to do and to the upload to the iPad, etc.

    The Apple store took the return without any fuss - so that's a star or two in Apple's corner!

    This product met my expectations and I had high expectations.

    This is my second wrist monitor and I bought it to replace my eight year old microlife. Since I owned a wrist BP monitor before, I found this easy to use for the first time. Some first time wrist BP owners might not figure out how to use it properly right away. I work in the high tech design and manufacturing industry and I rate it 5 stars for design, ease of use, quality, container design, app software. I have used it for 3 weeks and compare the reading with my other unit. One feature I like is the rechargeable lithium batter which holds a charge for a long time. If you have other brand name devices such as a digital scale, you can manually record your weight and BF etc... Recommended. Supports multiple users.

    I bought the cuff in Mar 2013 and it has worked without an issue. then last week it stopped working. i wrote to the support group and they diagnosed the issue and had it fixed within 2 days.

    I am planning to return it back as the readings always high compare to another biceps device which I have from Boots. My suggestion before you buy it try it in the store and compare it with another device that you know it gives accurate reading.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

    If you do care about your health and you do need ACCURATE readings on your BP, do not buy this product. It never N-E-V-E-R has provided accurate results. I tried on multiple persons. Always wrong. For info, at 240/170 you're dead ! Those were readings I could get sometime. I returned it.

    Good product, not without quirks.

    I bought this after 3-months of virtually non-stop overseas travel and the feeling that my bp was getting out of control. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't think the instructions were too bad and made sure I installed the iHealth APP prior to starting the device for the 1st time. Although the bluetooth connection was made immediately, it took 4 or 5 attempts before the 1st successful reading. Then it worked fine for close to 2 weeks with several readings per day. Took it to my doctors' appointment yesterday and he was impressed with it, also noting that it takes readings from 'bottom up, vs. top down'. Beginning last night, the unit would not complete a cycle to take any readings, even though it was charged to 100%. After 8 or 9 attempts and multiple restarts, it began working properly again after I did a hard restart on my iPhone.

    Cool Blood Pressure Cuff

    Being a Cardiac Nurse, this product features are:
    (Pros) small, pocket size, paired with my iPhone 5 right away (after registration), worked & showed what seems to be accurate BP for myself, it records BP measurement and Heart rate.
    (Cons) needs bluetooth connection with a smartphone (i have an iPhone5), did not work with my Macbook Pro even after I downloaded the iHealth vitals which CORRECTION: iHealth vitals are available in the iTunes Store and not the App Store (to be downloaded) in your Mac. It did not come with an electrical adaptor, hence charging it only via USB to your computer. Otherwise you can use any usb adaptor to plug directly to wall electricity.
    As a patient using a beta blocker (heart rate control), I needed a BP monitor on a daily basis maintaing my privacy at work.
    Considering I am a high tech person with medical knowledge, this unit works great for me.

    Working product

    I had a few connection problems at the beginning. I contacted iHealth: first by phone (impossible to reach anyone; unacceptable long waiting times) then by email. Email was successful and the advisor provided the steps required to get me going. That was appreciated. Used this a few times and compared the results with measurements taken with a regular BP monitor (arm measurement vs wrist measurement); discrepancies are too large. Wrist measurement is always higher (e.g. 150 vs 130). Not sure why I am experiencing this. I intend to follow up on this and determine if I have an accuracy issue with this (iHealth device) otherwise very nice looking and easy to use monitor.

    Healthy Individuals

    I bought this for daily monitoring of my moms blood pressure. I need to get an accurate reading to determine if she should get her blood pressure pill. If using iHealth Blood Pressure Wrist Monitor you must be healthy and be able to sit still. My mom has Parkinson's Disease and cannot sit still for long periods of time. Sometimes I have to redo her blood pressure. Plus you can only do blood pressure twice within 20 minutes. This should be made known to anyone who has Parkinson's Disease. There has to be a blood pressure unit for individuals with Parkinson's Disease. I am happy with the unit otherwise. I had no problems setting up the blue tooth and getting a connection to the device.

    Excellent Product

    This is the best blood pressure monitor I have ever owned. It's simplicity and accuracy is amazing. I no longer have to attach a dock to my iPhone, the position sensor is simply and easy to understand, and the battery charges in a very short period of time. I have had no problems with the instruction or with getting it set up. As long as you have the iHealth app installed on your IOS and know how to pair a Bluetooth device with your IOS you will be okay and be ready to go in less than 2 minutes. Everything is super easy and intuitive, just what you expect from and Apple device. I can highly recommend this BP monitor. It works great! It's worth every penny.

    Simple to Use

    I have hypotension (low blood pressure), and the doctor is always asking me about it, so I bought this machine when I saw it because I thought it would be a good idea to keep an eye on it. The machine works really well, very accurate. The design is really beautiful and simple. It was very easy to set up and install the app and get it running. I read some people complain about the instructions but I didn't have a problem at all. I don't know how the manufacturer could make it any more simple! If your arm isn't in the right position/angle, the app won't let you run the test. When you put your arm in the right position, the button on the app lights up and allows you to run the test. It only takes a minute and it charts your results very nicely with the date and time and you can email it or send it to Facebook or Twitter (although I don't know why anyone would want to.) It only took about an hour to charge the battery. The only complaint I can even think of with this machine is that the charging cable will not fit in the storage case, but that's not really important. I would recommend this monitor because it has great build quality, is incredibly simple to set up and use, and it's inexpensive. I was actually surprised at what a solid, quality machine this is when I opened the box. I thought for the price it would be cheaply built, but I was wrong. Basically this blood pressure monitor does all the work for you, except for, you know, fix your blood pressure. That'll still be up to you.

    Great Product

    So far so good, did not encounter any issue with synching, set up, etc. (iPhone4S). Set up on iHealth website was smooth with no issue. Took about an hour to charge the unit. The only negative so far is the travel case is a little small.

    Not Accurate

    I used this product for a week and was worried about my high BP. I saw my doctor and we tested it three times in her office. My doctor took my BP and it was 132/83, but the iHealth consistently said 145/101. My doctor said take it back or depending on my frustration level....throw it away! I have a friend with the wireless blutooth bicep BP cuff from iHealth, and my BP is normal on his.
