Pros:
Very fun to play with.
Extremely durable shell.
Powerful motors.
Stops automatically if the blade is obstructed.
Easy to replace individual parts.
Easy to understand instruction videos.
Several games for it on the App Store®
Unable to save pictures or videos. - Only pictures via screen shots.
Adjustable max altitude, tilt, and alt increase.
Gyroscope control or directional pad.
A lot of online support.
Easy to use interface.
Cons:
The battery only last for about 15 minutes and then needs to be recharged.
It doesn't handle well in light or strong wind.
The range isn't as good as i expected. It starts to skip at about 30-50ft, unobstructed.
The charge level lights on the charge indicator didn't work correctly.
After charging for hours and the charger indicated it was charged, when connected the system reported the battery at less than 50%. - The last two problems can be either a problem with the charger, with the battery, or both.
After a couple of crashes, some of the blades became loose and had a slight wobble. I couldn't fix them and it flew fine. It was only noticeable when the blades were spinning.
The indoor haul started to get torn up around the inside edge of the blade enclosures. Presumable because the blade digs into it when something is bumped.
Camera quality was ok. The front camera was about the same quality as camera on the back of an iPod Touch® or the front camera of an iPhone®. The bottom camera was not as good of quality. Reminded me of security videos they show on the news.
NOT good as a spy plane. It makes considerable noise.
Recommendation:
While this is a great product. It has much room for improvement. Before buying this you should research other options to be sure it is right for you.
Review by a real person, not by anyone from marketing or sales, hence, a none perfect score and revealing the good and the bad... unlike many reviews here.
Pros
----
Easy to operate
Safe to use indoors
Not too noisy
Cons
-----
Short battery life
Very limited range
Very limited height
Slight lag in the controls
Controls a bit awkward
No autonomy
I want the thing to have a speaker and screen on it so I can send it as a surrogate to things. If it had that it could also act as a security device for me to scan my home or other areas. Using it through a home wifi and using facetime would allow it so many more applications than just a toy.
