    Disappointing

    I was hoping to be able to type on this keyboard, but the tiny and hard to push spacebar makes it nearly impossible. I would not recommend the keyboard, there are most likely more portable/useful purchases, especially for the price.

    Got keyboard connected to ipad no problem, problem occurred when i went to actually use this garbage, the Q,W,E,R,U,I,O & P keys do not work.
    Wish I had read other reviews before buying this piece of equipment/paper weight.

    Keyboard layout is infuriating

    I bought this to use with my iPhone so I didn't have to lug my laptop with me on weekend trips.

    I love everything about it except the keyboard layout. The right shift key is not only less than half the size of my MacBook Pro keyboard, it sits right next to the up arrow---a major design flaw. Every time I attempt to hit the shift key while typing, I instead hit the up arrow.

    The whole purpose of buying this keyboard was to be able to type emails faster on my iPhone. Instead, it slows me down because I wind up having too make too many corrections.

    I'm back to tapping out messages on my iPhone.

    Do not buy!

    I bought this exact model of keyboard in black for $30. And 30 is about what it's worth. It gets the job done and is small enough to be easily portable. However, it shuts itself off after about 30 seconds of inactivity, a timer which can not be changed, and to reactivate it you have to power the device off then on again after a second or two delay: it was very minor at first, but it grows to be absurdly frustrating.

    Aside from that the keyboard does work and the keys are a good size. But seriously - its NOT Worth $100!

    Do Not Buy!

    This is a terrible product. It's manufactured cheaply, with plastic rattling everywhere. Very uncomfortable. You can actually thumb faster on your iPhone that type on this piece of junk. My particular unit was especially bad because it had trouble getting the power to turn on. Mercifully, the third time I tried to turn it on (months after I first used it, because I hated it so much but needed a wireless keyboard and my good one from Apple was elsewhere) it was simply dead. Hallelujah. I threw it in the trash, where it felt right at home.

    Depends on your needs and your typing ability.

    Unfortunately, I am not one who is able to adapt so easily to a differently formatted keyboard. While a keyboard like this would provide ultimate portability, I found it too difficult to use.
    The G and the B key are smaller than normal, while the H and the V key are larger. I understand that due to the folding design it had to be this way, but it gets very annoying very fast. Combine that with the minuscule delete key (and a second one where the ctrl key usually is; another annoying design) makes for a very difficult and tiring typing session.
    But in the end, it's not the manufacturer's fault; it's simply impossible to create a portable keyboard that'll be as comfortable as a regular keyboard.

    In the end, I just carry around the Apple bluetooth keyboard. It's not that much heavier (half a pound maybe) and there are VERY few situations where I don't have a bag that's too small for the keyboard. While the thought of pulling out my iPhone and a portable keyboard from my pockets discretely and start typing away is pretty awesome, the technology's just not there yet.

    In conclusion; if you want to get serious work done when you're out and about, just get a full-sized keyboard (Apple bluetooth keyboard). I doubt people would find it that much harder to carry an extra 0.5 pounds, and I seriously doubt (other than purses of course, but even then) that people carry bags that cannot fit the Apple bluetooth keyboard.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I had high hopes for this product but it was cheaply made, did not last long at all and wasn't even reliable when it did work, which was not very often. If I could give this product a .025 star rating I would. The only good thing about it is that it folds in half and is very small, but considering it doesn't work, none of the other factors do you much good...

    This keyboard is the sloppiest, cheapest product I've seen in a long time. Bad design, doesn't even close when it folds, keys are odd shapes and not at all consistent. This is the poorest product I've purchased in at least 10 years.

    Not happy at all

    Just didn't work when I turned to on or anything!
    Light flashed that was the end of that
    Would not pair with 3 different iPhone 4's
    and it was undiscoverable.
    I wish it did work out. I needed a small portable keyboard...just one that works!

    Apple graciously is sending me their own keyboard. Now I just have to get a case

    Don't try to get a part

    "Back in the day" I had a Palm PDA and a keyboard that was wonderful.
    The HippiH keyboard works fairly well except for the lower left hand (the pinkey finger area). There is a small shift key right next to 3 arrow keys - you can imagine the mischief that happens there.
    Also I tried to get a "foot" (small rubber item that raises the plastic keyboard above whatever it is sitting on for a smoother, softer contact) because I lost it.
    HippiH's website is being repaird (for the past 2 weeks) and "peter" doesn't answer emails (and I don't want to phone Denmark).
    Apple won't help because it is a third party item.

    Lasted only one month

    I bought this keyboard for traveling with my ipad. On my very first trip, some of the keys stopped working. I had it in my carryon.
    I had tried the keyboard before I left, and it was working fine. This was the second one that Apple sent me. The first one didn't even sync. I should have figured it out then.

    good, but bulkier than expected

    a decent keyboard, but be warned, it's thicker than it looks. it's fine in a large jacket pocket, purse, large bag, etc., but if you're expecting it fit in a pants pocket or a close-fitting iPad bag, you'll be disappointed.

    for comparison, i think it's ~3x as thick when folded as an iPhone 4s.

    Not as expected...

    After trying a friend's iEagle and liking it, I ordered my own. I unpacked it, carefully followed the steps for paring the device to my IPad and it worked beautifully--but I could never get it to work again. I kept getting an error message to "make sure the device is turned on and within range," both of which it was. As others have noted, the construction is somewhat primitive; the locking mechanism, for example, is very difficult to move. I'm nervous about trying a replacement and may opt for the standard Apple wireless version.

    After receiving the Brookstone wireless keyboard built into a leather iPad case as a gift from my daughter for Christmas, with her blessing, I decided to try out this folding keyboard because of its smaller size before making a commitment. I love the lightweight portability of my iPad and the Brookstone keyboard added considerable weight and heft. Unfortunately, the Apple keyboard was a complete failure. I eagerly took it out of the box, but then struggled for over five minutes to get the battery compartment open. While struggling to do this, one of the little (and I mean LITTLE) white rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard kept falling off. I could not get the locking latch to slide even a micrometer. And my iPad never could "find" the keyboard to sync. Just kept saying, "connection unsuccessful". I finally gave up and decided to retry the Brookstone. it synced almost instantly with no problems at all. I do NOT recommend the folding Apple keyboard and will be returning it tomorrow.

    A false start, then a fine product

    I bought this keyboard recently for my iPad 2, only to discover it didn't work properly: eight of the keys were nonfunctional. Apple Support was superb. They sent me a free UPS return label, and forwarded a new keyboard, all within a couple of days. The replacement works just fine. Like at least one other reviewer, I have a quibble: What's with having two blank keys on the bottom row? Wouldn't it be better to expand the length of the dinky space bars instead? I read recently that people are having finger problems from extensive use of virtual keyboards on unyielding surfaces, and this makes me doubly grateful to have the HIPPiH keyboard. Though pronouncing HiPPiH makes me feel like a tool.

    Good keyboard

    Pretty good keyboard. Easy to set up. Nice control keys for home screen, iTunes. Has arrow keys.

    Supplied neoprene case is a tight fit. Second time out of the case, one of the plastic legs (an insert), disappeared.

    Maker should supply extras in the shipping carton.
