Answer
Yes, but you need a converter to put the HDMI Cable into the Display because the Display does not have an HDMI port..

Can I manually turn this display off while keeping my mac mini that is hooked up to it awake? (I use my mini as somewhat of a server)

AnswerYes, if you want to save the 100 or so watts of power the screen will take.
An easier option would be to set the screen saver to blank the screen which will greatly reduce the power requirements.- Answered by Mike R

What's the power consumption at highest/medium/lowest brightness?
Does anybody know what the power consumption of the display is at highest/lowest and possibly medium brightness. Didn't find info on that.
Thanks in advance.

will this work on my playstation?
I like the design of this screen, but the current 23-inch dell screen i have can be used in my ps3 if I use a HDMI to VGA cable. I wanted to know if there was a way to get the PS3 to work on this great screen?

AnswerYou can use it if you buy an unofficial mini displayport to hdmi but in the past month they are being sent back to producers as they are not authorised by Apple. There would be some other converter cables out there, have a look in Apple's category "Displays & Graphics". But most of these are just for computers.
You can also check other computer websites for converter cables.- Answered by Jeremy D from Melbourne

Would be nice for work. Is there an antiglare version?
Or at least an antiglare cover? I can't use a glossy screen fifty hours a week. That's why I bought a MacBook Pro.

AnswerNope, what I do is apply the anti-glare film. It works out pretty nicely.

Does this design not have too many flaws?
I really like the look of this display and would be tempted to shell out for it, but it seems quite ill-conceived, maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong but:
A) I have a Macbook and a Mac Pro, and would like to use this as my main monitor when I'm at home and switch between the two computers. The lack of connectivity on the back panel (just the triple cable coming out) means that I'm supposed to scramble around under my desk (if the cable even reaches that far!) to swap the display from Mac Pro to the Macbook every time? Would two triple cables have been that hard to include or at least a multiplexing box available on the website?
B) As far as I understand the display won't even work with my Late 2008 Macbook anyway because it's now old and irrelevant at two and a half years old?! And this is the only external display on offer on the Apple website?
C) There is no On/Off button, so if I'm working on the Mac Pro and want to leave it processing/downloading something whilst I go away for an hour, I'm
supposed to get down underneath the desk and bang my head again to unplug it? The only way around this I can see is setting one corner to Sleep Display in Exposé, but I don't really want to do this because I'll keep hitting that corner and sleeping it by accident?
D) Not really a question but I always like to finish with a negative; the lack of a matte option is disappointing.- Asked by Fred M from Litchborough

Is there audio support for old MacBook Pros?
I have both an older MacBook Pro 13" and an old Mac Pro which both have the Mini Display port connector, but were prior to the connection carrying audio. The 24" monitor offered USB audio, but it looks like this model has no audio support for those Macs. Is that correct?

AnswerYes, but the audio would be carried through the USB connector (part of the three tailed cord that's included). Unless you have a new Mac, there is no possible way to get audio through the MiniDisplay port connector (on older models). The *standard* of MDP supports audio, but Apple disabled it on those older models. That's what I have too (late '08 MBP), so I can live with getting audio via USB. :)

What is the depth of this display either without the stand attached, or with the VESA mount attached instead please?
The specifications on the Apple site don't quote the depth without the stand attached, or when the VESA mount is attached.

I have the first mac pro 8 core. Will this monitor connect to it? I'm thinking I'll need an adapter. I believe it has one vga and one dvi.

AnswerIf your craphicscard doesn't have a MDP you will need a adapter. If it does, you are lucky. And it must run Mac OS 10.6.4.
