can i use a dell keyboard on my imac?
- Asked by William S from Flower Mound

AnswerDell (as other branded keyboards) are often made by a third party vendor. Many of these USB keyboards will be recognized by the Mac OS and function as a basic keyboard, but it is not guaranteed. The only way to make sure that functions like Eject and volume control work is to purchase either an Apple keyboard or a 3rd party one that is "Made for Mac".

Is it compatible with OS X 10.6.5, 64-bit (Intel)?
I recently had a new hard drive installed in our Mac Mini and was using a Macally keyboard. Their update drivers do not support 64-bit and the keyboard freezes. I want to ensure that a new keyboard will be fully compatible.

Answerthe $69 wireless keyboard will, for sure. I do it all the time. That keyboard will also work on an iphone and ipod touch (both of which I have done).
It will not do them both at the same time, though. The keyboard can only be assigned one device at a time.- Answered by Kurt T from Fort Wayne

Can I connect BlackBerry to this instead of to a system USB port?
Early 2006 iMac Intel Duo with original white keyboard doesn't allow BlackBerry to operate (says there is not enough power) using one of that keyboard's USB ports. Using Snow Leopard.

Best AnswerThe keyboard USB ports operate on USB 1.1, which does not provide enough power to support some bus-powered devices. It also does not support the higher transfer speeds or other upgraded features of USB 2.0, which is what the ports are on the rear of your iMac.

Answer
The device weighs approximately 475g. There's definitely some heft to it, especially when compared to some of the cheaper plastic keyboards floating around. This is, of course, due to it's aluminium construction.
