Hi Anthony
I recently ordered a replacement MacBook Rechargeable Battery so can hopefully help here.
The battery I ordered was a "MacBook Battery (White)" Model A1185 and the Apple product code was MA561G/A. So it does indeed seem to match the product you are asking about.

How long does the black Macbook battery last?
First, is there a difference from the Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery. And how long will each of them last?

I've been using the original battery that came with my MacBook 3 years ago.
Cycle Count is 773, and the battery still lasts for about 2 hours on a full charge.
I was told early on that you need to let the battery charge fully, and discharge fully before plugging into a power outlet. I've done that since the day I got my computer, and this is what has preserved my battery for so long.
The quickest way to ruin a battery is to keep it plugged in, or to charge it before it discharges completely as this reduces the battery life- Answered by Awais N

Do Apple offer a service to refurbish my existing battery, rather then buying a new one? If not does the Apple store take them for recycling?
My Macbook battery is completely dead, and I would like to get a new one. However I would rather get the existing one refurbished if this is a cheaper option. If not I would like to be able to dispose of the battery properly, ideally to someone who can recycle it. Do Apple refurbish batteries, or offer a trade in on them, or take them for recycling or safe disposal.
Thank you.- Asked by Tristan T

What you should do is purchase a rechargeable battery from apple online or in-store. Then follow the installation instructions included. This new battery will also give you an extra 2 1/2 hours on top of what your old battery had. The replacement battery costs $129.99. My guess is that your battery's health is way low. Find out the condition of your battery here:
Apple Menu>About This Mac>More Info>Hardware>Power
The third section is Health Information. This should tell you the number of cycles your battery has had and its condition. I'm not sure what yours might say, but mine says normal. If yours says normal too, or you want an actual percentage of how healthy your battery is, there is a great widget in Dashboard called iStat Pro. Its a free download and it'll tell you a bunch of information about your Mac including charge, cycles, and health.- Answered by Tanner V from Mesa

I did my own research and found that the battery must be replaced at an Apple store or reseller. Probably because there is no easy consumer access and there is better access to recycling. I'm not sure about the reason. The cost is $129 at this time.

can i use a 85w magsafe to charge my black macbook?
I know that it will charge my laptop but is it bad for my battery or computer to use the 85w instead of 60w?
- Asked by Reid W from Fort Thomas

Best Answer
Yes you can.
The difference in Wattage has only to do with the load the power supply can handle. So your black MacBook uses maximum 60W , that means that the power supply of 85W, in theory, will work better for itself, since will not work in its limits.- Answered by Georgios A

where do I find the cycle count?
I have a one and one half year old macbook (white) and it doesn't hold much of a charge, maybe 2 and one half hours. Is this normal. I read something about cycle counts. I really would hate to have to replace the battery this early on. Mostly I just keep it plugged in to the power adapter.
