Can this be converted for use with 30-pin apple products (iPhone 4s, iPod)?
I have the Bose SoundDock III which I use with my iPhone 5. I would like to be able to use it with my iPod Touch (I don't have the newest version) and my mom's iPhone 4s. Please help. I wish Bose would make the connector part interchangeable between lightning and 30-Pin. The only difference between Series III and Series II is the connector.

Answer
No. You must have a Lightening connector on your device. Currently this is only for the iPad 4, iPad mini, iPhone 5, iPod touch 5 gen and a few others.

Answer
Yes, this works with the Mini! We just bought our son the Mini for his birthday and he is always stealing the Sound Dock 3 from my wife and I for charging and playing music.

Answer
Yes, it will definitely work with iPad 4. I use it with my iPad 4 and it works just fine. Even though the iPad is big, it sits in the dock nicely.

Answer
The SoundDock III is specifically designed for and equipped with a lightning connector, such as found on the new iPhone 5 and iPod 7th generation, and this makes the remote control and charging capabilities work perfectly if you have the newest Apple products. You may find that although docking products made with a 30 pin connector will work with the newer Apple products (if you use the 30-pin-to-lightning adapter or an auxilliary cable), the remote controls for those docking products may not work to full capability (or at all). So, if you have Apple products equipped with the new lightning connector, this SoundDock III is great. I have two of these SoundDock III, use them with my iPhone 5 and iPod 7th gen, and I love them!! They're the best music dock I have heard, bar none!!

Answer
If you have an iPad 4 (lightning connector), yes it works. However, you have to remove a small black cap (very easy, can be placed back afterwards) in order to fit it. The only thing is that the IR sensor is then positioned behind the iPad, so you can't use the remote then. I use my BT keyboard to solve this issue.
Note: I see that your model no. corresponds to an iPad 2, so for you iPad it is not possible to connect it.- Answered by Dick & Monique I

Answer
Lightening connector is the new charger for the iPhone 5, the iPod Touch 5, and the iPad 4. It connects to the bottom of the device, like the old one, but this one is smaller and charges at a much faster rate. Also, It doesn't matter which side it faces as you connect it to the device.
I have all 3 of theses devices and I love the lightening charger. After I got the iTouch 5, I upgraded the iPad and the iPhone just for the lightening connector.- Answered by Marisol F from San Francisco

No, it will not. I bought this new Bose sounddock the day it arrived in my local store and found out that basically any case covering the bottom of your iPhone 5 will not fit on this dock. Right now I'm just using it with the 3.5mm aux jack but I'm patiently waiting for someone to come out with some sort of lightning to lightning adapter or dock extender.
