Best AnswerThe SoundRing speaker utilizes 4 speakers, two front-facing, and two side-facing – to project a sound stage much wider and fuller than its compact size would suggest. It would be more than adequate for the average size bedroom, home-office, family room, or other similar space.

AnswerYes, if you are watching the movies in iTunes, you can output the audio over Airplay to this speaker.
I don't believe that Quicktime or DVD Player currently support Airplay (without the addition of a 3rd party app from someone like Rouge Amoeba) but it looks like more native Airplay support will be coming in OS X Mountain Lion this summer.- Answered by Stephen C

AnswerNo you don't an Airport Express or Apple TV. All you need is a WiFi network, an iDevice or computer with iTunes, and this speaker. With AirPlay, it's like this speaker has an Airport Express or Apple TV built right into it.
