Will boot camp affect my fusion drive?
I am a techie so don't be afraid to use technical terms. I want to buy a Mac mini with a fusion drive. I also want to portion the HDD to 3/4 OS X and 1/4 windows. If I do this, will it also portion my SSD? Because I want to keep all of the flash for OS X because I will use it a lot more than windows.

AnswerAccording to the knowledge base on support.apple.com (I can't link there, but the article ID is HT5446):
You can add one extra partition to the hard disk used in a Fusion Drive volume. This partition can be formatted for Mac OS X or Windows. This extra partition will only use the hard drive and not the flash drive.
So basically, yes, it does what you want. :)- Answered by James F

Are Games Great on MacBook Pro?
Hey Im Michael I am 13 and buying a MacBook soon, I was wondering if it would be good for my gaming needs. I play games such as Skyrim, Minecraft, World Of Warcraft, and Terraria. Will it run good on Normal settings? Or will I have to use Low settings and still lag? Thank You for your time reading
Note: I plan on buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro- Asked by Michael M from Newcastle

Best AnswerMacs are not really meant for alot of gaming, but i have one and it runs pretty well. You cant expect bf3 maxed out but it will handle WoW, MC, and Skyrim pretty well on med and maybe high settings. About skyrim, i dont know if it is compatible with mac but if it was, it would be great performance. But i would seriously reccomend saving up a couple hundred bucks more and getting an imac. But your future MBP should do the job:)
Hope this helped and good luck.- Answered by Oscar C from Chula Vista

Can I use a mac mini as a everyday computer until I get imac ?
Can I use a mac mini as a everyday computer? I will upgrade to something like 4 or 8 GB Ram and will be using a HD top spec monitor and even probably upgrade the hard drive or use external drives but will the mac mini do the job?

Best AnswerYep! A mini is a desktop computer and is a really good everyday computer. You can upgrade the ram from 4 gigs to 8 gigs. You can also upgrade the hard drive for the Mac mini also. The Mac mini is an awesome computer and will get pretty much any job done!

MacBook Pro 15" for photography - hi-res glossy screen or the anti-glare screen?
Hi, I am going to study photography soon and plan to invest in a MacBook Pro. Thinking about a 15" screen. I am confused between the hi-res glossy screen and the anti-glare screen.
I am currently using a MacBook 13" with an anti-glare screen. I am okay with it. I have heard for purposes of Photography - the glossy screen would display the true, real colours. And then, I have read reviews which say otherwise. Please suggest!- Asked by Sujata K

Best AnswerTypically I see glossy screens as having deeper blacks and higher contrast as well as being nicer to watch movies at night but often colors are overly saturated. Anti glare cuts glare (obviously) colors are very decent and fairly accurate but at the risk of also "washing out" some of the color. Mind you, all of these pros and cons are subtleties
There is NO STANDARD in the industry. Many go with glossy and many with matte finish. Go with your gut instinct. I use a matte finish but know industry pros who use glossy. It's important as a photographer you calibrate your screen so your colors print the way you see them on screen.

i currently have a Macbook Air 13" laptop. with 120GB Hard drive. Is it possible to have a big hard drive added?
- Asked by Greg R from Concord

AnswerI don't think so. The MBA is so tightly packed that it would be next to impossible to add another, my advice to you is to either buy a 64 GB flash drive or external hard drive.
Or if you are tech savy, buy a router from apple that has a usb port and can support a hard drive and then go and buy a hard drive any size desired even a flash drive, and plug it into the router and move some of your files from your Mac to your new online storage.- Answered by John S from Ankeny

AnswerHow much are you planning to carry the laptop? The 15" is heavier than the 13". One idea is to hook up a 20" or larger monitor at home with the laptop, and then take the 13" with you when you need it.

I am a Landscape Architecture student and had my 2009 Macbook Pro 15" stolen. I need to now replace it. I was wondering which laptop to get?
I know the solid-state disk is great so I have been looking into the Macbook Air (13") and the MBP with retina (15"), but neither have seemed correct. The air seems too small for designing and using large architecture programs on, but the retina screen is blurry on most websites and on my design programs, which would be quite irritating. Should I just get the older version MBP 15" again? Thank you!

Best Answer
If you want a server, Mac is probably not your best option unless you have a specific need to run Mac programs. Mac is a desktop computer. Even the Apple website itself uses a Linux-based server. Good server operating systems include Linux (CentOS or Red Hat), OpenBSD, NetBSD, and FreeBSD.
