256gb vs 512gb for student and gamer
I'm a high school student looking to buy a 15" rMBP for use throughout the last half of high school and all of college. I would use the laptop to play video games occasionally but I don't plan on having too many downloaded at once. Also I download a little music, but I never download movies or tv shows. I still can't decide whether 256gb will be a large enough hard drive or if I should upgrade it to 512gb. Please help?

I use my Mac for both personal and for work, if I were to get a rugged hard drive can I completely run all my work files from the hard drive?
I don't want any of my work files on my computer, I do a lot of media and design and they are slowing down my computer. Can I completely place them on the external hard drive and not on my Mac, almost as if I had two separate computer storages?

Is the power source for the LaCie 1Tb Sata iiiSSD compatible for use in Australia?
The description "external power supply" doesn't really tell me if if I can use this product as is in Australia, or do I need to simply change the power cable to suits our wall socket fittings.
This product is at least $400 cheaper in US than in Australia.- Asked by Christina H from Kanimbla

AnswerYes. I saved my files to a thumb drive and when launching a new return in Turbo Tax, it asks what location your 2011 returns are in. TT had no issues reading the files generated on a PC. Hope this helps

- Asked about: JBL Flip Portable Bluetooth Stereo …
Best AnswerI just bought the JBL FLIP with a goal of pairing with my iphone and macbook pro.
However the iphone paired easily but the macbook pro would not, the wheel kept spinning looking for a device. I finally gave up and decided to head back to the Apple store. First I went to my barber for a haircut and was discussing the pairing problem. He had a bluetooth device (not JBL)and the instructions said the hold down the on/off switch until you see the pairing take place. I went home and tried this and it worked. I can now pair to my iphone and macbook pro. I have to say that the instructions for the JBL are horrible. Shame on them. So to pair just click on the bluetooth inon on the top bar then click on "Set up Bluetooth device" - Now turn on the JBL and hold the power button down until you see the message on the laptop that the JBL FLIP is paired. Now enjoy the sound from the JBL. Hope this helps. And thanks to my barber :)- Answered by Ed N from Carmel

I have MacBook Pro OS X Version 10.6.8 - can I download Facetime for Free?
- Asked by Joyce S from Dallas

Best AnswerNo, not for free.
To run facetime :
The required OS is 10.6.6 or later. You need enough RAM, a cam and mic and enough bandwidth( all the obvious stuff).
And, you need to buy the app from the app store for 99 cents. I just asked 1 800 my apple to learn the answer.- Answered by William O from San Bruno

Does it work with an older macbook air?
Some of the answers indicate this new portable superdrive will work with any mac that does not have a superdrive built in. That indicates it should also work with an older Macbook Air. However, if it works with an older Macbook Air why doesn't it work on any Mac? I have an older iMac that has a superdrive that won't work properly because it was switched to to many locations. Instead of buying a new superdrive for it I would have liked to purchase the portable superdrive since my iMac will require replacing within the year and it makes more sense to buy this drive now so I already have it to go with the new iMac.
