Can it work with a 15" MacBook Pro (mid 2008) without a mini Display Port?

I have a 15" Mac Book Pro, and would like to know if there is an adapter available to connect my MBP to one of the new Apple Cinema displays that now require a mini Display port. My MacBook Pro does not have a mini Display port. Thanks

Is the foot on the new display the same size as the 27 inch imac. I want to use a i360 with it.

Does the Display have HDMI input/output connection?

Since I am fully integrated with the Internet I would like to know if the display panel have an HDMI input/output. This would make the display a viable solution for integrating my video systems with this display.

When connected to the Cinema Display via my MacBook Pro. Can I close the lid of my MacBook Pro?

I am thinking of buying the new Cinema Display in 2 weeks when it's pay day. But if I connect to the Cinema Display via my MacBook pro. Can I close the lid of my MacBook Pro and still use it via the Cinema Display. Otherwise I would have 2 monitors open. And that's a lot of light!?
