Has anyone had any luck getting the Pegasus2 R4 Diskless drive to work with Seagate Barracuda 3TB drives, ST3000DM001?

I just took a look at the Promise's drive compatibility list and I am bit concerned that my existing Seagate drives (ST3000DM001) won't work in the DISKLESS version of the R4. They are listed as working in the disk-included version, but not for the diskless. Anyone have any luck installing these drives in the diskless version? Thanks.

Yes I am using 4 of those exact drives in pass through mode. I picked them up at at BestBuy in Bellevue. I have had no problems thus far.

  • Yes, 4 x 3 TB Seagate Barracuda ST3000DN001 in Raid 10 and it works beautifully. 407 MB write 485 MB read.
I use my Pegasus 2 R4 as the boot disk for my 27 in late 2012 iMac and have experienced no issues thus far.
I'm very pleased with my purchase.
