Is the iPad 2 Dock necessary?

I am considering getting an iPad 2, and I am making a list of all the accessories that are necessary. So, I want to know if the dock is necessary.

    No, the USB cable that comes with iPad is good for syncing and charging. There is even a 10 watt adapter to plug into the wall. If you get a smart cover, or a case that props iPad up, you definitely won't need the dock. Hope that helps.
