I have an old ibook 10.3.9 g4 powerpc and intelbased mac running tiger. Is there any family pack I can upgrade to to work on both machines?

No, due to the fact that your Power PC can only run up to 10.5.8 and your intel can run anything over 10.5.8. such as 10.6 (snow Lep)

First check they both have intel chips.
