It should, if you're truly using an early 2009 MacBook (which should have a built-in trackpad). You first need to install (1) OS 10.6.4 and (2) a separate trackpad update. To find the trackpad update, go to Support > Downloads, search for "trackpad," then look for the "Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0" download.

It's unclear what you mean by "no trackpad" since all MacBooks have them, but (as stated in the description) as long as you are running Mac OS X 10.6.4 or above, yes.
