Can this keyboard be used with my mbp in clamshell mode?
I understand that the macbooks require a keyboard to enable operation in clamshell mode. Will this keyboard satisfy that requirement?

Yes, as long as you are connected up to a separate monitor or tv, you should be just fine with it in clamshell mode
