Would I be able to use the adapter kit to charge my camera that usually charges with a USB cable?

Absolutely provided that charging your battery does not absorb more than 5W for an iPhone charger and 10W for an iPad charger, unless you are using a professional DSLR then a) USB voltage is constant (5V) b) 5W means a current of 1 amp maximum (Volts x Amps = Watts - plenty to charge most camera batteries).
