  • The touchpad on the unibody MacBook Pro supports more gestures than the mouse, and stays still while you gesture - the mouse has to be held while you gesture, so it's not quite as simple.

    For a lot of things, the touchpad is more convenient. Unfortunately, you can't get a touchpad on an iMac, Mac Mini, or Mac Pro.

    The surface isn't as smooth as the trackpad (plastic vs. glass) but it is very smooth compared to a Bamboo touch. The surface resistance is jut enough to prevent accidental swipes.
