Yes, but only if the airport express is extending an existing airport network. In other words, if you already have an airport extreme, time capsule, or another airport express it is possible to do this. It's just, however, not the easiest or most reliable option in my opinion.

Yes, and don't let anyone tell you other wise. I have a first gen Airport Extreme upstairs and an Airport Express downstairs using WDS attached with an ethernet cable to the XBOX 360. My son-in-law says there doesn't seem to be any hickups using the program "Call to Duty".... Saved running an ethernet cable to the second floor....

I have a Netgear router. Connected wirelessly to it with the Airport Express
Plugged in ethernet cable to the express ethernet jack and then to xbox 360. works great.
It works as a bridge. Many have said it would only work with Airport extreme or another Airport express. I'm doing it with Netgear router.
connecting wirelessly tothe router then plugging into the RJ45 on the airport express. Works fine- Answered by EO from HARRISBURG

USB port is only for Printer but you can use RJ-45 to access internet as long as Express is connected to your modem wirelessly.
