    Yes, ANY bluetooth product with AirPlay capabilities can connect. Then ANY product with a line out (headphone jack) can also connect.

  • I use it to listen to music through my macbook which isn't listed as one of the compatible devices on the product page but works just fine because it's really just a great sounding bluetooth speaker.

    I believe the first gen iPad has bluetooth. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    But If you want to make sure, go to any apple store and bring your iPad and try it.
