Adobe Photoshop Elements 8
worth it
Written by JK from quincy

This new version is much improved and has added much functionality that is usually associated with the professional photoshop. There is the ability to do metadata to the image files in the new Bridge program. The function of layers is now possible; making it easy to know where you are and what to send back and forth. The feel of the program is more like the professional program. It takes a bit to get use to if you've never used photoshop before or in a long time. Wonderful product. …More

Yes, this is not Apple software but if you are considering Photoshop this is an inexpensive introduction for many $100's less then the full blown version. It has 80% of the things average Joe or Jane photographer would use in Photoshop CS4. …More

Amazing Tools
Written by MJ from Austin

While this software is not for professionals it certainly has tools that rival the full blown Photoshop. It is the best photo editing software in the under $100 price range. There is a substantial difference between the look and feel of this version over previous versions. That does create a bit of a learning curve to find everything again, but the improvements are totally worth it!! …More

Very upsetting

Why on Earth would Apple sell this knowing that first time users to Photoshop would be completely lost.
The tutorials are for V7 Windows. There is no guide included...insane. I have to scrap my way through this, and I really don"t have the time.
There will be phone calls tomorrow most certainly. …More2 of 2 people found this useful

newbie no

If you're a first time Photoshop user thinking that Photoshop Elements 8 is a great intro to Photoshop for $100, think again. The tutorials and instructions are so difficult that a novice Photoshop user will have to resort to other means to figure out how to use this software. Podcasts, online videos, a professional,...? This is one of the worst purchases I have ever made and I only wish that I could return it. …More

Need to SUBSCRIBE TO MAGAZINE TO LEARN TO USE?
Written by WW from Florence

This is a Christmas gift, I asked for. Boy did I ask for it! Used to using Corel PhotoShop,
on windows. This falls far short. Maybe I just haven't figured it out but if that is the case it is difficult. I am usually able to load a program and jump right in. Not with this. I have tried editing and adding to my photo albums both took too much time, too many steps and the editing results were disappointing. And now Adobe suggest a subscription to a magazine "Elements" to learn how to use the program. Now why would anyone need a year or two subscription to figure out how to use this program??? I think I made a big mistake in requesting this. Would have paid double for an easier to use program. Sad, Sad, Sad. …More2 of 3 people found this useful
