Play any way you choose in the five evolutionary phases of SPORE: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each unique phase presents different challenges and goals. You may choose to start in Cell and nurture one species from its humble aquatic origins to its evolution as a sentient species. Or decide to start building tribes or civilizations on multiple planets.
How you play and what you do with your universe is entirely up to you. SPORE gives you a variety of powerful yet easy-to-use creation tools so you can create every aspect of your universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even starships.
While SPORE is a single-player game, your creations and other players’ creations are automatically shared between your galaxy and theirs, providing a limitless number of worlds to explore and play. You can also visit the SPORE website and look at all the cool things your friends and people all around the world are making--then pull them into and make them a part of your own world.

One account per copy?!
Written by TM from Brunswick

If I install my copy, my sons and wife can't play. Because of EA's stupid DRM, I'd need to purchase each of them their own copy. Stupid, as much as I want to play, thats unacceptable. Shame EA.
Returning for a refund. Hopefully they'll get the message (look at the amazon reviews) and patch. …More1792 of 2343 people found this useful

BEST GAME EVER

I have been waiting for this game to come out for at least 3 years and they kept postponing the release date, and it was well worth the wait! I was so excited when i found out that it was going to be released on the mac too. Spore is a game that allows the player to create creatures and planets and explore and alter the galaxy. The power that the player gets in this game are endless and i've never played a game that game anywhere close to this. fun for all ages. i highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this game..... …More

Smooth and Flawless gameplay so far...
Written by SK from Glendale

I played this game for quite a bit down at the Penny Arcade Expo, and was enthralled by it. It truly is a masterpiece in the making. I was particularly intrigued by the depth of the open world, and the level of detail put into almost every part. When you are at the lower levels of the food chain, and are scavenging for food, it seems as if you could explore anything and see the level of work put into the game. The games ability to bring you to a microscopic level without resorting to a side scrolling adventure really set it apart for me. Up, down, side to side, and every angle of your environment could be explored. I look forward to delving deeper into the game with my own copy soon enough. …More

DO NOT BUY THIS HORRIBLE GAME!
Written by AB from San Francisco
27-Nov-2009
This game is simple, boring and easy. There is nothing revolutionary or educational about this game. You will spend more time uselessly "designing" things that have little impact on game play than actually playing anything. Everything you create is completely cosmetic and has little or no impact on the way the game plays. Evolution at work indeed.
Now if you buy this, you are STUCK with it. You will never be able to use it on another computer because the rip-off artists at EA have put a copyright on it that makes it so only ONE person can ever log-on and play it.
Being disgusted by this weak and horrible waste of time game, I actually found someone that wanted it and tried to give it to them. After a frustrating morning combing through EA help pages to no avail, we discovered that there is no chance anyone other than the original user can utilize this horrible waste of time game.
You will be better off spending $1.50 on a paddle ball. At least that way you will walk away without the feeling of being taken by the crooks at EA. Shame on you EA and shame on you Apple for selling this garbage. …More3 of 10 people found this useful

Very neat game!

First for the ones that keep on complaining about incompatibility with Snow Leopard - I have NO clue what you are doing wrong. The game installed perfectly on my iMac (OS: 10.6.1) and runs very smooth.
Regards to the game - great replay value as no replay is the same. The game allows you to create pretty much anything, from your buildings to the way you look and so on.
I highly recommend this game for the ones who like to be creative with their gameplay.
One advice, at the end of your installation process the game might try to download the same patch twice or more times, so watch what version patch you are about download before you click the "Yes" button.
