Belkin HDMI to DVI Cable
great value that works great

i've been trying to hook my laptops up to my TV for years and though it has worked the results have been poor. this very inexpensive cable (compared to cables in large chain stores) does an EXCELLENT job of displaying my macbook pro content on my HDTV and it looks INCREDIBLE. showing Front Row content or full screen streaming videos (hulu.com or netflix in my case) looked awesome. it won't turn most HDTVs into a second monitor but for viewing computer content on your big screen it's definitely a five star product. …More

Belkin HDMI to DVI Cable
Works great - BUT...

If you are connecting a Mac Mini to an AV receiver (DVI to HDMI), beware. The Mac Mini does not put out HDCP compliant signals, and many AV receivers require HDCP on the HDMI connection, or they just put out a blank image. I can connect my mini directly to my HDTV without a problem, it's just the receivers that can have the issue. [by the way, my receiver was a Harmon Kardon AVR-354)
The cable is a great unit however - well built and works great for the price (mini to TV only, though.)

Belkin HDMI to DVI Cable

I bought this cable at an Apple store, took it home, connected it to the DVI connection on my Macbook Pro, connected it to an HDMI input on my Vizio TV set my display preferences to mirror displays, and all is right with the world! Perfect mirror image of my monitor on my HDTV. What more can you ask for (other than a cheaper price, but hey, it was comparable to the monster cable price). …More

Belkin HDMI to DVI Cable
Works with newer and older macbooks, easy to use, and good picture quality
Written by JC from Oakland

This Belkin HDMI to DVI cable was extremely easy to use- I plugged it in, and it worked immediately. It is compatible with my 2006 Macbook Pro (directly plug into laptop dvi slot) as well as my 2008 Macbook (with adapter). The picture quality is very nice, stable, and colors are vibrant and transfer well to my HDTV.
In addition, this cable is reasonable at 20$ from a well known manufacturer. You will have to get a separate audio cable to pipe sound from your speakers, but that's not a big deal and fairly easy as well. All in all, I highly recommend this product, and am extremely pleased …More22 of 24 people found this useful

whats the difference between the belkin hdmi to dvi cable and the extrememac extreme hd hdmi to dvi cable?

Best Answer
These digital cables have different transfer speeds depending on the quality. The extreme should probably be better (high capacity). I think the speeds can range from 5.5Gb/s to 15.3Gb/s. The higher the speed the better picture quality you get. But it depends on your player and your TV. …More
