Cover provides good protection, but isn't a great stand
The cover snugly encloses my iPad Air and provides a good seal between the front flap and the case the whole way around. As you'd The cover snugly encloses my iPad Air and provides a good seal between the front flap and the case the whole way around. As you'd expect, the cutouts line up perfectly and the automatic lock / unlock function also works well.
However, the smart case isn't a great iPad stand. The flap does not provide enough stability for tablet manipulation (typing, launching apps etc) when folded back on itself when standing in the upright, requiring a second hand to support it to prevent it from falling over. Also, in the slightly inclined mode, the strength of the magnet built into the case is insufficient to keep the cover folded back on itself, and as a result the case usually collapses in on itself. Even when it doesn't, the incline is only slightly more angled than horizontal anyway. …

Really nice case...but...
Honestly, the quality of the case itself is great, but it has a design flaw. When the cover is closed, it doesn't lay flat. Beca Honestly, the quality of the case itself is great, but it has a design flaw. When the cover is closed, it doesn't lay flat. Because of the way the hinge material (between the case and cover) was designed to be sturdy, it holds the cover up about 1/16th of an inch. This, in turn, makes the cover not lay flat as the back pane of the cover (nearest the hints) is raised and the other two panels of the cover lay flat. It's significant enough that it's very noticeable when looking at it. …

Great look & feel, but maybe too soft as a stand
This case has a great feel. Nice, soft leather with an even softer interior to protect you iPad Air. Full coverage front and bac This case has a great feel. Nice, soft leather with an even softer interior to protect you iPad Air. Full coverage front and back so no worries about scratching your device. Thin and light so it complements the tablet. The only complaint I have is when the cover is folded and used as a stand, I have to position it just right otherwise the triangular "base" created by the cover collapses and the unit falls backwards. This seems to be because the cover is soft. Perhaps the polyurethane cases will work better since they appear more rigid. …

When new, this is the most attractive color available and it's very nice to the touch. Six months later and the edges of the cover When new, this is the most attractive color available and it's very nice to the touch. Six months later and the edges of the cover have absorbed body oils (I suspect) and looks terrible. No complaints about how it works, etc. On the basis of the stains only, I would not recommend buying this expensive cover. …

My ipad air has the distinct The case has a great look and feel, but it WILL cause yellow stains to invisible shield protectors. My ipad air has the distinct yellow lines matching the folds. Chicken and egg...don't know which is causing it, some chemical in the case (formaldehyde?) reacting with the polymer...or the polymer having some weird property making IT react with the case...either way, it's a GREAT case, easy to snap on and off, fairly protective most importantly, light and thin.
Just be warned if you use zagg invisible shield. (i've been a very loyal customer of zagg since the beginning. …

Has nice patina fits very well
Unfortunately the cover on this doesn't work very well as a stand I do like a nice tight fit in the patina have not tried cleaning Unfortunately the cover on this doesn't work very well as a stand I do like a nice tight fit in the patina have not tried cleaning it yet because I think it might ruin the cover. For 80 bucks it's a little steep but it adds about the same weight as the iPad Air but it does protected very well. …
