iPad Smart Case - Polyurethane - Light Gray

Personalize it with a free engraving.

The iPad Smart Case covers your iPad — both front and back — yet still retains the thin, light design of iPad. Like the Smart Cover, it folds easily into a stand for reading, typing, and watching video. And it automatically wakes and sleeps iPad on open and close. Made from polyurethane, it's available in six bright colors. And you can personalize it with free laser engraving on the Apple Online Store.

    Not worth it

    • Written by from Wawa

It is a nice case, and I do appreciate the slim design. However the top magnet flap that rotates on the front screen allowing the iPad to sleep or wake when you open or close the flap did ruin the side of my iPad due to its metallic composition. I'm a student and use my iPad on a daily basis so I do not recommend this case for someone who will be getting a lot of use out of it. It's not worth the damage/ scratches that it will cause to the iPads finishing. More

    Nice, but wobbly

    • Written by from Denver

Welll, overal it's a nice case. It's pretty protective, unlike the Smart Cover. It has coverage on the back, unlike the cover. The typing stand is super handy, and I use it a lot. It's nice for the table, so I don't have to bend my neck over the screen because of glare. It's especially smart for the case to be able to fold in half. I also use that a ton to take pictures, on the go and at home. The stand feature would be nice, but it's wobbly. It's either tilting towards me, or tilting too much backwards. I was watching a movie today when it fell over onto the table. SMACK! I almost cursed. Twice. There were also some reviews I saw about the Smart Cover where finger oil/sweat was an issue, staining the polyurethane and making it ugly. That hasn't happened yet, but I haven't been gaming a lot. All in all, it's a great case. Very smart, very handy. I recommend it to many. More

Perfect!...but please make it in black!

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

I loved my smart cover, but I was always afraid it would snap off as I was standing there holding it (it never did but the possibility is there right?!). The problem with a full case is that you lose the sleekness that the iPad is known for. This solves for both...it's one piece so the cover won't come off but it's still so thin (but pretty durable still) that it keeps the overall thickness down. It fits both my ipad 2 and 3...its ever so slightly loose fitting - not so loose that your ipad will fall out but just loose enough that you can changeout your ipad with ease (for those of you who are ipad case fickle like me) Love it! I have it in the dark gray...please make it in black!.....and purple! More

    Nice expensive case

    • Written by from Doha

It's made for the iPad by the guys who made the iPad. So the quality goes in par with the device. It perfectly fits the new iPad 4 and does not make the iPad look bulky.
Though its expensive, it's worth the buy to compliment the iPad.

Good case, a lot of money though.

    • Written by from Gaithersburg

First off, I read a lot of the complaints and most were how the edges are "sharp" and "hurt you". Well, unless you have very delicate hands, they won't hurt you. Sure the edges do stick out a bit and could poke you a little bit, but it did not seem to bother me. What I like about this case is that it covers the entire iPad. The iPad does sink down a little bit in it and those "sharp" edges seem to stick out to help protect from drops and bumps. I haven't dropped my iPad yet (hope that I never do), but this case seems like it offers a good amount of protection. The case looks really nice, seems well made, seems to protect the iPad well and while adding a bit of size to it, still seems to have a "streamlined" feel to it. Now there are some complaints that I have. The first being that when standing up straight in landscape mode, the iPad will wobble and fall over pretty easily, I almost have to stand it up against something. Kinda defeats that whole purpose. The second complaint is that when opening the cover, you have to dig your nail in to get a a grip so you can pull it open. Now I am worried about dropping my iPad, contemplating getting Applecare+, but spending $150 to protect my iPad is a lot of money after I already spent $600. Anyone out there know how well this case does with drops? Overall I like this case, contrary to other reviews, I'd say my 4th gen iPad fits in rather well (it was very tight to get in and even harder to get out), it looks good and seems to add a good deal of protection. Not perfect, but really good. More
