Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
Beautifully Done.

This product is great and I think everyone who has an iPod Touch 2nd gen should get one of these. It allows you to control your music so much more easily. Instead of having to double click the home screen and then hitting the pause button you can just click the remote on your earbuds. So MUCH easier when your iPod is locked.
Well and then its awesome to be able to record stuff and you skype and other voip apps on your ipod. Its nearly like having an iPhone except with no monthly fee. …More2398 of 2860 people found this useful

iPod Headphone with Mic and Remote
Written by AG from Kingston

I bought these to replace my lost original set for my iPod Touch 2g. I found the sound quality for recording is excellent considering the size of the microphone.
I use iTalk to record and iTalk Sync for Windows to upload my recordings to desktop. It recorded kids running at the above appartment better then my Logitech headset with mic on my laptop.
I love the volume control and song Next/Previous when I walk the dog. I don't have to keep reaching for my iPod.
A good buy! …More1778 of 2225 people found this useful

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
A great piece of technology!
Written by JE from Trumbull

This product is very useful to have. I am using it for the ipod touch(2nd Gen)The microphone is great and picks up all kinds of sounds. You just have to remember not to put your finger over it! This mic allows you to use many applications. The remote controls are great and easier to use than the touch screen. My only dislike is that sometimes you have to twist the input certain ways to get the remote control and mic to work. If you have an ipod touch(2nd gen) and the mic and remote don't work at first, don't worry. Just keep twisting the headphones in. …More

Worst Apple Product Ever
Written by JH from CHULA VISTA

I love and have Apple everything but these are the worst headphones ever! They may stay in your ear if you are knitting, but any activity at all causes them to fall out. Plus once you start to sweat it runs down the cord and affects the control device. It will start activating on its own, changing songs, raising the volume, or talking to you in that voice, "playlist 1, playslist 2".
Don't buy it, and don't buy an iPod shuffle until they redesign the headphones if you wan to use it to work out with. Unless you don't sweat! …More3 of 7 people found this useful

remote goes bad and earphone hurts ear :-(
Written by NR from Bensenville

There's no question that Apple makes GREAT products but this one has missed the mark.
The earphones that came with the iPod touch I bought about 3 months ago have needed to be replaced 4 times due to the remote ceasing to function. The earphone itself is also not good, at least for my purposes. I am an audiobook listener so I wear the earphones for hours at a time almost everyday. I'm not sure what it is about the earphone's shape or material but the area that was in contact with the earphone caused great pain in my ear that lasted for days after I stopped using them and went to an in ear bud type of earphone from a third party.
The saving grace in all of this is that the earphones that I kept replacing didn't cost me a dime and the 3rd party earphones (with and w/o remote) selection is quite vast. …More4 of 9 people found this useful

Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic
Good quality, but breaks easily
Written by RB from Flossmoor

I bought these headphones and they worked wonderfully, but a month or so later, the right headphone (the one with the clicky thing) stopped working. The clicky thing still worked, but not the headphone. Very good sound quality, but breaks eassily. I will most likely stop buying ipod brand headphones since mine keep breaking. Buy a cheap brand from Best Buy, they will last longer in the long run …More

Will these work to use skype on ipod touch 2 gen
- Asked by VA from Florissant
- 11-Oct-2009
Best Answer
My guess is Yes! Apps that need voice in them such as voice memos and in your case, "Skype", are made for the built in mic or the external mic that you would find on this head set. The voice apps like Skype are partly made for mics. To round it up yes you can use this particular headset for Skype and other related apps.
P.S:
If you are unsure on whether or not the Earphones/Remote/Mic will work on some apps, just check on the requirements that are located on the right hand side down the bottom of every app on the App Store. …More- Answered by JT from Gosford
