I'm a real fan of brushed aluminium look. It's also quiet, doesn't buzz or make annoying sounds and it doesn't overheat even after several hours of continuous work.

The drive is whirling away as though it was working but nothing! Have to purchase a new drive to perform backups on and not really happy.

I had confidence that, should anything happen to my computer, at least I had the data backed up. Not so. Two days ago, I spilled a bit of liquid on my keyboard and had to replace my computer. This is bad enough, but when it came time to transfer the data from my LaCie, I was told that the data would not transfer because the LaCie had been "corrupted"! I brought my old, liquid damaged computer back to the Apple store and prayed that the hard drive was still functional. Thank God, they were able to transfer my data directly from my old hard drive to the new computer. If this had not been the case, I would have lost all my data! I will never use the Lacie product again! I will now use both a G-Drive and a Seagate Slim, backing up my computer routinely on both. Redundancy is key when protecting precious data!
