    The Best of the Beats

    • Written by from Winston Salem

I've owned these Beats for a few weeks now and I love them. They are better than the Solos (I upgraded from the Product Red Solos to these) but not as ridiculously huge as the Studios or Pros. The Beats sound is great for all kinds of music with deep, rich bass and clear highs and midrange. They come with a hard case that keeps them protected as well.

Best of the beats by dre line up

    • Written by from Hazlet

I have tried the entire beats line of headphones these are by far my favorite. the have the highest volume threshold and dont drown out most of the music with excessive bass while balancing out the mids and highs with amazing clarity. Extremely well made, not plastic like most of the beats.

good sound quality, but not comfortable

    • Written by from Boston

I bought this one two weeks ago, the sound is incredibly awesome, this is the best sound effect i have ever heard. however, when i wear it on my head, not too long time, i will feel very painful on my ears and i even feel it like poisonous. if you have small ears, you could buy this one, but, not regular-ear guys.

    AWESOME BEST BEATS EVER

    • Written by from Superior

They sound great with the perfect equalizations of bass and lyrics and all sounds. They are the loudest Beats ever without the bass overpowering the music. If u listen to Dubstep then these would b the ones to get! i love my Beats Mixr and take them everywhere! They are super light, flexible, durable, and great for taking on the road. They adjust really easy to fit anyone and they stay on ur head perfectly and comfortably the entire time ur jamming out. If ur thinkin bout getting some Solos bc there the cheapest I would suggest spending the extra $50 and getting these bc they sound way better and are way louder! Easy to clean and keep looking great!!! MY fav by far im so glad I got these rather than the Solos...

    Too tight. UNCOMFORTABLE.

    • Written by from Taipei City

I really like the design for this headphone. Also the sound quality is good, but it is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. My ear feels hurt and turn red after I wear it for only about 10 minute. I read a lot of review before I bought it, and they already say that this headphone is too tight, but I was think that I'm a girl, so maybe I won't feel too tight. Then I find out is does too tight, so my suggestion DON'T BUT IT.

    Beats Mixr headphones

    • Written by from Queanbeyan City

For the past few weeks, I keep on heading back to my local Apple Store (Canberra, Australia). Testing all the headphones on the shop. I'll plug-in the headphones to my iTouch and listen to my selection of songs (ie Usher, AC/DC and Skitz Mix selections). The result: a thumpin' music experience, its like a party and everyone is invited. This is better than the Studio (requires batteries) and any wireless headphones (temperamental).

    Love these headphones but....

    • Written by from New lenox

So when I went to Best Buy to try these on I was checking to see which ones I wanted. The executives were garbage. The studios were as well. The solos weren't the best. But when I put these on it was so different. These were so much better. A clean bass and good treble. My only complaint is that my left ear hurts a little after wearing them for a long time. I had to stretch them out too because they were so tight they hurt. I'm a female and so with my long hair my BIGGEST complaint is that my hair gets caught in the rings all the time and it HURTS. I've figured out how to avoid this situation but it's quite a pain. Other than that they look like pros (unfortunately I didn't get to give those a go but they're good from what I've heard) and have great sound.

    So tight!

    • Written by

Great design! The sound quality and bass are really good! But I feel uncomfortable about my ear. It is just so tight. You should try it before you go. I prefer to pay 50 more to get Studio!!!

    (: Beats Headphones :)

    • Written by from Perth

The Beats Mixrs are great headphones that are very stylish. They have really good audio quality, they are really comfortable but after around two hours around about they begin to make the top of your head ache a little. It doesn't really matter though because you get used to it. Although this is what i'm saying everybody's heads are different and mine might be similar to David Guetta's head. People are saying that the base is overtakes the rest of the music but my opinion is it is really balanced. I have owned all types of headphones and this has been the best so far. What i mean is for one of this size though like different size headphones way more and less but usually the more padding the larger the headphones but these are a good size cause you can take them like everywhere; saying this they don't fit in your pocket. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who has the money to buy them. The only downsides are these
1.After around two hours it get uncomfortable.
2.When you flip one ear up whist the headphones are on it can clip your hair.
    Hope this helps :))

    Great Product

    • Written by from Stamford

Ok so when I got these I headphones I bought them for the purpose of DJ-ing with them. I bought them in white from the apple store I've had them for about three weeks and they're not dirty at all the packaging is great and the carrying case is good for carrying your extra cables or adapters. When you first put them on they'e tight on your ears and you can't were them for extended periods of time, but after a week and a half they shape to your head and you can were them as long as you like. The sound quality is very good and the base isn't overpowering like it is on other beats headphones. The swiveling ear cups is very useful for DJ-ing. Overall great buy. Great sound quality and durability and style is an added bonus. I'm giving this four stars because of the tightness on your head when you first were them eliminate that and I would give them a five star review.

    Mixrs 4 Mixing

    • Written by from Toronto

As DJs, we are known to be picky on our equipment (if not, then its just me).
These headphones may not be the best in the world (though Beats have the highest market share and try to convince that they sell the best headphones) they are not, but to be honest, they get the job done. I previously owned the Studios and Pros, but the Studios have a low quality external noise reduction and the Pro Beats (though more durable and more noise reduction) are just too heavy. Therefore, the Beats Mixrs (which are made with the same material as the Pro Beats) give out the same power and noise reduction as the Pros and the "eardrum shaking" bass as the Studios.
These headphones aren't too big and they look pretty stylish when performing on stage. I give these headphones a 4/4.5 out of 5 and I strongly recommend them to others.

BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO PAY BIG BUCKS FOR THE BEST HEADPHONES, GO FOR THE SENNHEISERS HD 800 <----- WORLD'S BEST HEADPHONES!!!

    Great for Daily Use

    • Written by from BRONX

I use this on the train, library, at the office.
They are not noise canceling, so ambient noise can interfere with the sound quality.
Construction is strong; not flimsy like the other models.
    Upgrading from inexpensive in ear.
Fit is good and easily adjustable.
At first there was some discomfort, but this had more to do with moving from "in ear" to "over the head" headphones.
    Lightweight despite size.
I highly recommend these especially for bass lovers.

    Very, very good.

    • Written by from CODY

These excellent headphones. I tried a couple dozen different models, from most of the major manufacturers, but couldn't commit until I tried the MIXRs. Works great with iPhone/iPod. Very clear, crisp sound, and a lot more base than the original Beats headphones with noise canceling. One of the best features on the MIXRs is not needing batteries. I find them snug, but comfortable. I think its a plus that they are a bit tight. They won't fall off in you are jogging or biking. Comfort hasn't been a problem at all, and I've even taken a nap with them on.

My set's headband snapped under regular use after a few months, but I called the warranty number and they sent me a new one very quickly. I honestly think it was just a fluke, maybe a very rare manufacturing flaw. I'm very happy with the purchase, and with the customer care I received.

The sound quality is universal. I listen to This American Life and other podcasts, a lot of hip hop, and plenty of electronica and alternative music. Everything is crisp and clear, and it feels like you're listening to your favorite songs for the first time.

The Pain is not Worth it

    • Written by from Toronto

I read quite a few reviews before I finally decided on these. One of the biggest selling points is the small size and the way the headphones collapse. I'm not a huge audiophile so the sound is good enough for my ears. Unfortunately, these earphones are so tight that they pretty much crush your head after 10-20 minutes.

As I said, I've read the reviews and was aware of this problem. One reviewer said that they stretched them out by putting them on the box over night. Another said that after a few weeks use they loosened up. I have tried everything and let me say that, after four months, THESE DO NOT LOOSEN UP! This may be a nice feature for a DJ bouncing around the floor but for working at my desk? I don't need that level of skull crushing pressure. I would most definitely not buy these again.

    Beats mixr

    • Written by from albert park

The beats mixr are the best in the line of beats products. And the second cheapest headphones. Yes they hurt a little bit on the ears but I still love them. Way better sound then studios considering they don't have battery's and feel way lighter than pros. And they are the next up above solos. I would recommend it but I think you need to use them more as they are tight to begin with. I listened to them in the shop and they were great. But they have been on display for long. Just keep using it and they should not be as tight

    Resolve Beats Mixr Pain

    • Written by from Colorado Springs

Hey y'all, so I got a pair of Beats Mixr's for Christmas, and I really love the sound quality and size of them! But I've also realized that I too, begin getting pain on my ears after listening to my music for (like a few others have already said) about 10 - 20 minutes. They do seem to squeeze on the sides of head really tightly, to the point where I just have to take them off because my jaw was also beginning to hurt. I was wondering how some of you others that have had this same problem have dealt with it or made it better. I could really use some advise! Thanks!

    $150 headphones for $300+

They are comparable to $100-$150 headphones from other brands in terms of audio quality. But you are paying $300+ for the "coolness" factor.

Great sound and product, too big

    • Written by from Fort Worth

I LOVE the sound that these headphones deliver. The case keeps them safe, and the headphones aren't flimsy or easily messed up (just don't drop them). My only real complaint is that they are too big for my head! I guess the distance from ear to ear over the top of my head is very short -- you can adjust the headphones obviously, but even on the shortest length, they slide down my ears and squeeze in an uncomfortable way. My girlfriend got the studio beats for Christmas, and they fit much better. I love the sound of the Mixrs though. SO, I will have to fashion some sort of fabric thing with velcro and batting to allow them to fit comfortably. That's my only problem with them :(
