    Logitech Bluetooth wireless solar keyboard

    • Written by from Toowoomba

I find this keyboard excellent. Have just taken it overseas with me and put it on bus window ledge in sun for recharging. Probably only negative is its ease of carrying. I made a case, but it packed easily in my suitcase. I also use it with my iPhone. Highly recommended.

    Excellent Keyboard when on Sale

    • Written by from Calgary

Bought this keyboard a while back for $55, at that price it's an excellent purchase. The build quality is great, and it's also one of the nicer looking non-apple keyboards out there.

Never runs out of charge ever. At retail price it isn't a terrible deal If you consider you'll need to purchase rechargeable batteries/charger with a regular Apple Keyboard.

But still your best bet is to find it on sale, generally you can find these for the same price as the Wireless Apple Keyboard or cheaper..

The keys don't feel as premium as a wireless Apple keyboard, but in my opinion It's not a deal breaker, they are overall great quality.

Solar charging works well, however keys lose their symbols quickly

    • Written by from Pittsford

My family has used this keyboard on our iMac for almost two years. As I use Apple's bluetooth HID's on my Mac Pro, I wasn't made aware until a few months into use that the keys quickly began to lose their symbols/lettering. I phoned Logitech customer support who graciously and quickly sent a replacement. However, even after being informed that they are aware older "batches" had this defect, the replacement keyboard began fading within a few weeks. Now commonly used keys are completely blank. No harsh cleaning solvents are used, no liquids or spills or hand lotions/sanitizers. It seems Logitech utilizes a very weak "painting" process. None of my Apple keyboards have ever experienced such a matter. I'm now in the process of replacing it with an Apple bluetooth keyboard and numeric trackpad combination.

Solar charging and multiple device pairing for the win!!

    • Written by from Vancouver

I was a bit scared getting this keyboard because of some of the bad reviews.
But it works great for me. The feel is not like the Apple keyboard, but its still pretty good and after using it for a while you don't notice it anymore.

Also, the solar charging is pretty amazing and being able to make it connect to 3 devices is pretty sweet.

I didn't get the disconnecting issue that some people talk about, I leave my computer sometimes for 30+ minutes and when I come back the keyboard bluetooth connection is still on.

    I'm quite happy with it!

    Great Keyboard

    • Written by from Sorell

I love this Solar keyboard. I keep using it for my iPhone when sitting at my desk or the iPad when using Pages or any text related app. I am even writing this review by leaning back in my chair using my iMac.
The battery charges by inside lighting but best of all is the function to switch from one device to the other so quickly. I have used it for a month now, and have no problems giving it 5 stars!

    Don't buy this!

    • Written by from las vegas

The concept is appealing, considering how fast the Apple wireless KB drains batteries.
But this one keeps dropping the Bluetooth connection, and Logitech doesn't seem to bother providing support or follow up.
On top, the first one I bought had a faulty Shift key, so I had it exchanged.
In summary, poor quality, useless (I reverted to my Apple KB), and with no support.
Simply put, don' t buy it.
PS. I gave 1 star as 0 star is not possible

    Bad design, keeps disconnecting

    • Written by from San Francisco

Great idea, but poorly designed. The keyboard disconnects from bluetooth after less than a minute if inactivity. Very frustrating as it takes several seconds to reconnect after you star typing again.

    I use this all time

    • Written by from Pleasanton

This is a great keyboard. I use it every day for hours at work. The keys respond well, and it has the kind of "feel" that I prefer.

I used to always shut off my Apple wireless keyboard at night because I wanted to save the batteries. Obsessive, I know, but I don't need to do that with this one. It just stays charged and ready for me the next morning.

And for those times when I need to have two computers on my desk, a press of a button and the keyboard is connected to that one.

    Two Major Problems

    • Written by from Kipton

I like the feel of the keys on this keyboard better then the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, but this keyboard has two major flaws. One, it constantly loses its Bluetooth pairing after only a minute or two of inactivity. The keyboard will also not allow me to switch to a second computer connected to my 2009 iMac using display-port. I went on the Logitech forums and there currently is no fix for this.

I bought it so I would not have to use a keyboard switch for three of my macs and I'm extremely disappointed.

    Nice features, poor keys

    • Written by from Burnaby

Great idea, having solar panels and Bluetooth device selection, but the keys sit very loosely and rattle by themselves. With the loose keys, it makes the keyboard a challenge to use effectively as a touch typist and feels quite cheap.

If the keys felt more solid and responsive, this would be a great buy. Without, it's an idea that needs another iteration through the engineering department.

I love this product. No more batteries. i have paired this keyboard with iMac, phone and iPad. One touch of a button, it changes to each device. I recommend this product to all, well worth the price. I think it is better than the original iMac keyboard.

    awesome keyboard!

    • Written by from Fort Collins

    Pros:
-it's fantastic not to have to worry about batteries
-a switch turns the keyboard on and off
-pressing F1, F2, or F3 allows you to connect to different devices
-it's got all the same buttons as an Apple keyboard

    Cons:
-you can reset the F1-F3 configurations by pressing a button on the back of the keyboard. If you grab it wrong, you might have to set up the keyboard again with your device.

    Summary:
-great keyboard. Not much bigger than the iPad, so it fits in my case just fine. I definitely recommend it and would buy it again.

    Reliable and works as advertised

    • Written by from Honolulu

First, I'd like to say that I got this keyboard to make typing on my phone less of a hassle and because of that, my phone gets used more as a computing device nowadays. In fact, I'm happy to have bought the keyboard and my phone is almost always used now unless there's no equivalent app to do what I need to. Texting, e-mail, and music playback is a snap now.

However, I have a couple complaints about the keyboard. One is the key spacing. I'm used to smaller keys and no gaps. Since I have small fingers, the wide layout means I feel like I have to make more effort to reach upper and lower rows.

Concavity is barely noticeable and I don't know if it makes a difference anyway what with the keys being so big.

I believe I can type more quietly on my laptop keyboard. The keys don't rattle about on it like the Bluetooth keyboard.

Finally, the keyboard has no case and cannot be folded for travel/storage or raised off the desk. I prefer typing on keyboards that are inclined at an angle.

However, these are superficial biases. In terms of function, it worked properly from the moment I unpacked it. It turned on, paired with no hassles, and keyboard input is responsive and accurate. I like the on/off switch as opposed to a button, and of course, the solar charging is wonderful. The build feels sturdy and it's thin and light enough to move easily.

If one doesn't mind carrying a bigger bag to accommodate the keyboard, I'd say this product is worth buying. The fact it works on Macs and iOS devices means it's versatile, and that means less machinery to juggle. If it could be folded and elevated off the desk, I'd give it five stars, even with the wider layout.

    Great, but

    • Written by from Florissant

I thought I would be saving something in getting the keyboard. But, even the solar power requires usb attached somewhere. I have a mac mini and hoped of freeing up a port, but instead I lost 2 keyboard ports. The product looks great works as promised.

Great keyboard but a little big...

    • Written by from SUNNYSIDE

I'm typing this review on the logitech k760. Its a really great keyboard so far and I was using it right out of the box within less than a minute. It was very easy to set up and paired right away with my ipad2. Another added feature, is that when you use it with the remote app for Apple TV on the ipad, it works as a keyboard for searching things on the Apple TV! which is great, because who wants to sit there and type in one letter at a time on the stupid apple remote? Especially when you are a fast typist. The other good feature here is that you can switch between multiple devices. Plus it even works with the iphone too. My only complaint is that the keyboard is a little big to carry around, and though logitech offers another version that is smaller and paired with a case, the keyboard does not come out of the case, so that seems impractical to me. I would really love it if they would come out with a smaller version like the keyboard "cover" that they make, that is also solar... with its own separate case. I don't mind carrying around a separate keyboard since then I can use it at any angle that I want to, particularly on my lap while the ipad sits on a coffee table in its own case. It would be great if apple would modify its Apple TV software so that bluetooth keyboards could be attached to use instead of a remote. The solar feature of this keyboard is so great, that I'll probably keep it, even though it is a little big, because I hate the waste and inconvenience of batteries. The solar feature was the main thing that attracted me to this keyboard. I have enough things to charge already, so one less is a really good thing. Another thing that would be good is if the tab keys on this keyboard enabled you to switch between applications on the ipad. There is a "home button" that takes you to the home screen, but you still have to swipe and tap to open applications. The tab keys do work to fill out online forms though. Overall I can't really complain too much about this keyboard because the solar feature is a giant leap forward, since I have not seen anything else out there that does the same thing for ipad. It would be great if the ipad itself was solar!! and how about a solar iphone??? ;) The only reason I gave this keyboard 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is a little big to carry around.., if they made a smaller version, maybe even a foldable one? I'd give it 5++++ stars!!

    Bad choice

    • Written by from Boston

My mac doesn't recognize this keyboard quickly at startup, waking from sleep, or after I leave for a few minutes and come back. I don't recall this problem with my old Apple wireless keyboard. Far more troublesome are the three function keys at the top, which, when you hit them accidentally during typing, will switch you between different bluetooth channels. I do this all the time, then lose my train of thought and have to figure out where I was. Eventually I brought out the hammer to this baby. Why not just hide these switches in a recessed area on the underside of the device instead?

    Works exactly as advertised

I've had the K760 for a few months, but really put it to the test today working from home. The Bluetooth switching is great, allowing me to flip back and forth between my third-gen iPad and early-2012 15-inch MBP with ease. This is highly subjective, but for me the keyboard has a great feel, with concave key tops and a bit more key travel than a new Apple unit. More "springy" and less "clicky," maybe a tad reminiscent of an older generation of keyboards that were designed with ergonomics, rather than style, as the top priority -- although the K760 looks great, too.
The solar power feature is really cool, and another major plus.
For me, this keyboard is now a must-have peripheral, expanding the utility of my iPad and letting me use the MacBook Pro in desktop mode -- all without batteries or cables. I love it.

    Mushy Keys

    • Written by from Eureka

I love that the keyboard is light powered. Not having to buy batteries is a huge plus. However, I've only had the keyboard for short time and haven't confirmed that this power supply works in the long run.

What struck me immediately, however, is that the keys feel soft and mushy, and create a louder springy sound when typing. After using an Apple keyboard for months, this one does not measure up in terms of fit and finish.

If Apple came up with their own light-powered version, I'd definitely be interested in trying that.

I just got the Logitech k760 keyboard, and so far I am loving it. I have connected it to my MacBook Pro and iPhone 4s, it works great and is very easy to switch between devices. I can't wait to get an iPad to make my 3rd device on the keyboard (it connects with 3 devices and can easily switch by the press of a button.)
