Like the bulk of the reports - it originally works just fine and then a few months later it's "give it a wiggle and it might work".

Most times it doesn't. It's most likely NOT your HDMI cable (I bought another - "it's got to be the cheaper item"). Wrong, the Moshi HDMI has failed. It might show occasional vision but no audio.

That was an expensive mistake. I see Apple are "discontinuing stocking this item". I wonder why?

It worked for maybe couple of months but has pretty much stopped working now. I have to keep fiddling it to make it work but soon the connection dies. Avoid. I would give it no star if there was such option. What a waste of time and money.

As with 90% of reviewers of this product, I bought this adapter from Apple and it worked perfectly for about 3 months. After those wonderful times, I had to set some sort of weight on top of it in order for it to work. Now it is completely useless. I have bought a cheaper replacement that has worked just as well. Save your money, you'll need a replacement sooner or later- with this product it is unfortunately much sooner.

Everyone has already said it. They are rubbish, very unreliable.

You would think that the apple store itself would only provide quality products to its customers, however this was not the case with this item. After about 3 weeks, it stopped working properly. I have to wiggle it around for a few minutes before it works at all. If you are in need of this type of adapter, get a cheaper one that will probably last longer.

Same review as every other one, works well for a year, then died on me. Now it will work if I get it in the exact right position. Treated the thing well and it just died on me one day. Might be stuck buying another one because I use it a fair amount.

I wish I could give this product zero stars. The first one that I purchased lasted 10 months and then the replacement lasted less than 3. I have friends that have had theirs stop working after even one month. Do yourself a favour, buy a Belkin or other type. Moshi adapters do not last.

On Mac OS X 10.7.5. I've had this item for about 2 years and used it maybe 50 times. It worked perfectly at first but after a few months it was touchy and needed to be in a certain position to work. Just today mine has stopped working after working perfectly yesterday. I would not recommend this at all. I'm now looking for a better brand for Mini DP to HDMI Adapter.

I am extremely disappointed with this product. My macbook pro is from early 2010 and I have updated faithfully any time Apple has made a new update available, suggesting to me that there is no problem in the OS. In addition, the HDMI cable I have is regularly used for gaming systems on the same display I have tried to use for my mac, indicating the problem is likely the adapter. This adapter has not worked properly since I dropped the $30 to purchase it in Fall of 2010. For a long time it was a 50:50 that it would work whenever I plugged it in. There was no pattern to the actions I performed to convince the thing to perform. Lately, nothing works. I can't use it anymore.
