Will an iPad (3rd gen.) fit in the front and an iPhone 5 (with adapter) fit in the back?

I have an iPad (3rd gen.) and an iPhone 5 with an adapter. I like to watch movies only iPad. Can I put the iPad in the front dock and the iPhone in the back one?

    The front dock is about level with the top surface of the clock, so the iPad won't fit. The iPhone 5 will, however, fit on the back with the adapter.
