The Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker is a small and discreet device that gives you a fun way to get fit. More than a pedometer, Zip tracks your steps, distance and calories burned before syncing the data to your Fitbit account. You can set goals, stay motivated and stay on the path to fitness with graphs, badges and competitions, online or using the Fitbit app for iPhone (available in the app store). Fitbit Zip is no misnomer: the device setups in under five minutes, syncs with your phone or USB dongle quickly when in range, and entering data in the app, such as activities or food consumed, is simple and quick to do. As the lower price may suggest, the Zip doesn't have all the features of the One, such as sleep tracking and stairs climbed, but it is fairly priced for what it does. Answer
So far, it seems very unlikely that the iPhone 4 will ever work with it directly. The Bluetooth Prot ocol version which the fitbit device uses (4.0) is newer and more advanced than that of the iphone 4 (2.1, if I'm not mistaken). Without updated communications protocols (which I'm fairly certain are limited by the hardware of the iPhone 4), these two devices cannot communicate directly. I would imagine that you could use the app to input some information, though I do not own one and cannot comment specifically on that. …
