As a previous owner of the P5's I couldn't wait to give these a try.

I'm at about 8 hours of listening, and they definitely need a bit of a burn-in, but once they opened up I was amazed at the quality.

It seems to be more and more difficult to find headphones that do not "color" frequencies (The beats do this terribly. Far too much bass. Gives me a headache.) Even the HKCL's did this. I'm glad that B&W do their best to deliver the music as naturally as possible without adding harsh treble or pumped up bass. The music the P3's deliver is exceptional. Even the midrange (which is the most difficult frequency to deliver in headphones) is exceptional.

The build quality is on-par with the audio quality. Amazing. They fit well, look great, and the case (although a bit plasticy and not "high end") will certainly keep them safe. They're easily portable (much more so than the HKCL's) and seem to be built to last.

Without a doubt these are the best $199 headphones I've ever owned.

After testing out Harmon Kardon, Bose, and Beats, the Bowers & Wilkins P3 had the perfect mix of highs, mids, and lows. It is not overpowering with bass like the Beats Solo HD. I listen to a variety of music spanning from Jazz to Progressive House, and these headphones fit the bill wonderfully. Futhermore, these headphones are portable and incredibly comfortable. Mixed with elegant looks and durable construction, the B&W P3 was the perfect combination of sound and estethics. I highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking to truly appreciate quality audio.

On ear, over the ear, open, closed, it's rediculous how many there are and all fail at some measure. Uncomfortable, no highs, too much base, no mids, it goes on and on. The P3 get its right at every turn. Comfort, oustanding definition ( I found the base a bit strong but easy to adjust for). Rich full sound, controls and mic on cord, compact and sturdy. I do not think for portbale use there is another product even close.
You owe iot to yourself to at least try these beauties!

I decided to do some research and read reviews of several pairs in technology websites and magazines and eventually settled on the Bowers & Wilkins P3's, they were maybe a bit more pricey than I was initially looking for but having read the reviews online I decided to take the plunge and I was also won over by the style of the headphones. The headphones arrived in packaging that immediately tells you that they're an expensive product and they come in a hardshell case and the cable comes complete with a remote for adjusting the volume and pausing / moving to the next track on iOS devices, the P3's also come with a cable which can easily be changed if it is being used with non iOS devices, MP3 players etc. The headphones themselves take a while to get used to as initially i didn't find them the most comfortable but after a few days of use they became less springy and more comfortable, the sound was initially underwhelming and I was wondering if i had made the right choice but I read that they needed a bit of time and I left the headphones on playing with the volume at about halfway for a few hours while I was at work and i found once i did that the sound improved dramatically. In short they are excellent headphones and when the time comes to buy new headphones I will definitely be going back to Bowers & Wilkins again.

I've used these for music, podcasts and movies, and all have been enjoyable. As another reviewer noted, sound leak is an issue over ~50% volume, but the only reason to go that high with these would be to drown out background noise that would probably be loud enough to mask the sound leak anyway.

My only real gripe is comfort-after about an hour my ears start to get physically sore from a combination of the pressure (the band is pretty tight) and the harder material under the super soft but super thin foam in the cups.

Overall, these are some of the better headphones in this price range, and worth a shot.

I wanted a high fidelity experience in a compact travel friendly design. I was not disappointed in the least. The audio clarity is excellent and the moderate noise blocking design is enough to isolate noisy airplane or train background noise from your listening experience while still permitting some noise in (like if someone is yelling at you or there is a natural disaster). Lastly, I found the customer service department quick and responsive. I ripped off my cable from an airline seat and was given a replacement in Sydney for free. I then later purchased another one, along with replacement ear pads online and received them very quickly. I like being able to easily repair the wearing parts.

    Pros:
Sound fidelity is excellent, bass not over blown
Moderate noise isolation strikes a good balance
    Responsive customer service
    Portability
    Classy style

    Cons:
    $200 (or more overseas)
    in-line microphone easily damaged
    Case a bit wonky
