Great cable length and high quality

    • Written by from Christchurch

I ordered a couple of these, and find them great for both in the car, and charging my iPhone as well from my laptop. Quality is as good as other Apple products.

    No problems in 2 years

    • Written by from Virginia Beach

I've given a combo of 10 iPad mini retina/iPad4/iPad Air to my wife's family in the Philippines as well as the two we have for her iPad Air and iPhone. Not a single problem with any of them.

Obviously many reviewers here have had different and poor experiences with theirs, but it's been all good as far as my experience goes.

Using this cable since i got my iPhone 5S and my iPad Air. Huge improvement in connector durability compared to the old one. About 1 years use and still works fine.

    Lightning Cable

    • Written by from Lewisville

I like my lightning cables. I've had mine since I got my iPhone 5 Sept 2012, and have never had any problems. It is a smaller connector than the previous gen, multi-directional, and have not had any problems relating to durability. Does what it's supposed to do. The only thing I wish was different was a lower cost.

    Incredible Cable

    • Written by from Maple Valley

Both original cables that came with the iphone 5 still going strong. Ignore the 1 star reviews. These are people that don't know how to use the cable and probably just yank it all the time. They break their stuff and then go complain and write 1 star reviews. Trust the millions of others that treat their stuff well and have no need to complain. Think about it people.

    Great Product

    • Written by from Binbrook

Approaching two years, I am still on my FIRST lightning cable and absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, I ordered two extras when it first came out (one for my car and one for work) and they're all in mint condition still. I have NO idea what you people are doing with your cables that are causing them to break so quickly.

    A sound, reliable cable

    • Written by from TAUNTON

I'm joining the ranks of the reviewers who don't know what all the criticism is about - other than "Apple Bashing", or people simply following the crowd. I have had an iPad, an iPad mini, and two iPhone 5s which need the lightning cable. They range between 6 months and 36 months old. Not once have I had a cable break or malfunction. I think the reviewer who said the problem people have may be due to dust/dirt in the socket is probably right - I have cases on all my devises. Also one has to remember that these devices are sophisticated pieces of technology, and whilst robust (I've dropped my phone and iPad loads of times without breaking them), they still have to be maintained and looked after.

    Works perfectly fine

    • Written by from Plano

I've had 2 of these ever since I got my iPhone 5. I've used them pretty much every day, lots of the time pulling by the cord, and they are still working great. I don't understand how so many could be breaking after a few days...

My first cord broke about a month ago and I got an off brand one to replace it. The new one was poor quality and broke three days ago so I decided to get the real thing. I ordered a new one that day and was extremely happy with how fast it got here plus the text alerts where very helpful. The first cord broke completely because of me, but the second off brand charger broke by itself. I have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend getting the apple brand to avoid terribly made rip offs.

    Good Cable

    • Written by from EDMONTON

This cable, due to the connector redesign, is much more robust than the older 30-pin version. My cable has worked fine for nearly two years with my iPhone 5, and it feels stronger than the previous version.

    Absolutely fine

    • Written by from London

The cable is clearly well made and durable. I have had one for several months with no problems whatsoever. My wife has had hers for about 18 months and no issues.

This is contrary to the plentiful supply of negative reviews. The cables are not flimsy; the users are blatantly careless. This is as well made if not better than other lightning cables available. It is also as good as any 30 pin cable, which is an achievement because 30 pin technology is so well established.

Please note that many negative reviews are not actually highlighting a fault with this product (I have therefore reported them as inaccurate):
    1. Some highlight a fault with the charger not the cable.
    2. Some complain about the cable being too short. Well you should have bought the 1 m cable for the same price. This is not the place for expressing consumer incompetence.

    Great experience with this cable.

    • Written by from Miami

Used this cable for about six months in various applications. From the car to USB hotspot to charging next to the bed. All work with no problem. This is an original Apple cable, although expensive, has worked well. Confused about the bad reviews based on my experience.
Will be buying another one just for the car.

    Need more info from reviewers!

    • Written by from Newtown

A lot of people have written reviews trashing this lightning connector cable. But I have seen dozens of ads for these cables from a number of places claiming that they are Apple cables, when in fact, they may not be. So if you write a review, please state if the cable in question came with your phone, sealed in the box, or was bought from an Apple authorized reseller or an Apple store. The fakes I'm seeing are even packaged in official looking Apple logo boxes. We need to know for sure whose cable is really getting reviewed! I've given a somewhat arbitrary five star because you have to pick a rating. However, it's fair to say I've had no trouble at all with the cable that came with my phone, which was sealed in the box with my 5S.

    They're great

    • Written by from Ware

I don't know why people give these cables a bad review. They work fine and last for ages!

If you start yanking your charger from the socket by the cable of course it's going to break! Be careful with your belongings.

    No problems and year guarentee!

    • Written by from Littlehampton

Don't see why people are complaining, these come with a year guarentee so if there is any problems they will replace it?
Also if you take it out correctly instead of just pulling on it then it doesn't break anyway.

    Confused by other reviews.

    • Written by from McConnelsville

I have had this cable for over a year and have not had any problems with it. I actually enjoy its ability to be reversible when plugging it in, no more fighting in the dark to have it the right way around. What I am confused about is why these reviewers keep buying the cable when it comes with a warranty. Apple will simply replace the cable if it breaks due to normal wear and tear before the warranty is up.

I have used this cable daily for over a year and have not had any problems. I like the reversible pin because it is easy to plug in. My son has the same cable and has no complaints either.
So I don''t understand all these other problems

Not sure why all the bad reviews

    • Written by from Sea Cliff

I'm still using the cord that came with my iPhone 5 over a year ago. Hasn't broken or stopped working, so I'm not sure why all the negative comments. Works fine, seems durable. I give it a thumbs up.

    Hey Yall,
AS a developer I love seeing all of these sad reviews. Haha, if you havent caught on to my sarcasam yet them I wish you well. The lighting cords awesome. Sometimes it makes you think is convient mean you can slam the cord in the door, run it over with a car, pull on the cord instead of the connector, and maybe step on it a few times. No! As Developer I understand that there are limits to the actually product strength itself. But these cords will last a very long time, sometimes makes you wonder is it product defect or just the owner/user? Got to ask yourself that question. I have had the same lighting cord that came with my iPhone 5 for a year and some change and it has been cared for and taken care and looks brand new. By the way try these steps hold your iphone and with other had grab the connector with your index finger and thumb and pull in opposite directions that might extend the length of your lighting cord. Just a little bit of advise for those who are clueless and as usual idiots.
