    Just read all of the other terrible reviews. Cable came apart right where it attaches to the lightening plug. Total garbage. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

    Cable Lead - TOTAL FAILURE

    Im on my 7th Cable Lead for my iPhone 5C, this is absolutely ridiculous and Apple should rectify this reoccurring BAD DESIGN FAULT !!
    Iv still got another 12months left on my contract !!!!

    Wow, never thought I would find a rotten apple in the tree *pun intended*!!!! I bought this phone in November and the charger broke in June!!! It said it could not support accessory!!!!! I tried everything to get it to work, but nothing helped. The same thing happened to my friend! She had to buy a new one. I hope apple can fix it in the next generation of products. Very disappointing.

    Breaks down after only a few months of totally normal use. I've gone through 2 of them in the past 7 months and now have to go get another, and all the charger does is sit in the same place. In every instance the connection would get worse and worse until finally the lightning head would break. In this last instance the lightning head broke completely off. Its really annoying having to worry about how long each one will last since it's absolutely necessary to have for the phone to not be a really expensive paper weight. It might not seem like much but having to throw away an extra twenty some bucks every few months on a cord gets aggravating after the third time it happens. Garbage

    Dire quality, unfit for anything other than static uses

    I need to charge my phone & iPad at work and, as a consequence, have always taken a lightning cable (or two) with me. They're well looked after - neatly wound, and put in the safe / small objects section of my bike bag.

    Nonetheless, I've now had 2 lightning cables die on me in 2yrs, compared to one dead 30-pin adaptor in... ooo... 7 or 8 years of multi-iPod and iPad use.

    Lightning might be semi-adequate! if used in only one location, with the connector held rigorously straight. For actual use as a real-world charger cable, though, it's beyond terrible. Quality control seems to've gone to pot, when compared with its predecessor.

    Expensive, shoddy, and unfit for purpose.

    Defective Cables and Charging Port:-/!!

    I am actually very angry about the FACT that there is a problem with the cables for the iPhones and Apple seems uninterested in admitting or addressing the problem. I am on my FOURTH cable!!!!! No, I am not an idiot who pulls the cable from the port. I am a 51 year old businessperson who spends hard earned money on what I HOPE is quality equipment and accessories. To add insult to injury when I go to the "genius":-/ bar, they act as if I'm stupid and pretend that they are oblivious to the problem (there was another customer there with the SAME issue BTW!).

    I am angry because I bought my first Apple computer almost THIRTY YEARS AGO and have been a loyal customer. I used them in my business and personal life. Sure, there have been bumps along the way, BUT this problem is especially annoying because of the lack of acknowledgement by Apple and refusal to admit a mistake. Sure, lots of cables are working fine, but for many of us, they are a HUGE FAIL:-/!!

    I EXPECT MORE FROM APPLE. It doesn't take a "genius" to figure out that customer loyalty is the foundation for success. If you're making someone like me who has spent THOUSANDS of dollars over the years this upset, red flags should be going off somewhere in your organization! WOW!

    these chargers don't even deserve one star. apple really disappointed with this one. i owned my iPhone 5s for a mere 3 months before the charger that came with it broke. now every week or two I'm picking up a new one from all different stores because every charger made for the 5 and up is complete garbage. every single one of my friends have the same exact problem as well. if apple doesn't fix this problem, it could be a deal breaker when upgrading my phone in a couple months!!

    Been thru 4 cables already.... Apple smarten up, if anybody remembers Tandy Computers they tried to pulled the same thing with propriety devices and cables and look where they are now.. Not satisfied with any apple products lately the quality has been going down hill

    I've had iPhones, iPads, and iPods since the beginning, and all of the cords are still in great shape except the 5s. This one broke in only a couple months, just sitting in the same plug in the same place. The flimsy little wires are broken right by the end of the connector. I am very annoyed that I have to pay $19 for another one.

    I agree with other comments I am now on my 4th cable it is very week at the point where the lead goes into the plug that goes into the actual device not the USB mains plug end. I have never ever had a problem with a charging lead for a nokia samsung or other android device. Apple you need to design something more robust these leads should last the life time if the device which in this day and age 3-5 years!!!

    Very disappointed in the cord. Never any issues with the phone. I have had the 5 for a year and gone through 4 cords. Apple better do something before it loses out to superior other brands. I would personally never buy this phone or cord type again.

    Tired of buying these

    My third cable is now on it's way out. My iPhone 5 is about a year and a half old. They just stop working and I have to twist and maneuver the cable until it picks it up, it's ridiculous for a £15 cable. My 3 year old iPad 2 30 pin cable still works perfectly.

    My cable and the charger rarely move from the plug socket beside my bed so it's not even like it's being jostled about and yanked around.

    I'm a huge Apple fan and I love my iPhone but I am so disappointed with this cable.

    Why I no longer want an iPHONE

    I have always loved the stability of Apple products, so when the opportunity for me to purchase my first product came, I wasn't cheap about it. I bought the iPHONE 5s and to my shock and awe, it did not come with a charger. WHAT THE WHAT?? So I bought one separately at the AT&T store. God help me if I haven't had to buy 8 more lightening cables since then. To make matters worse, whether they are Apple certified or not, they all have stopped working. 4 Apple certified and 4 noncertified cables since January 17th of 2014. I can't take it anymore. I am leaving Apple very soon and switching back to a brand that doesn't require me to add charger cable to my grocery list every month.

    POOR QUALITY Lightning USB cable

    For years I have purchased many apple products to include iPods, iPads, iPhones, mac book and even an iMac. Every single Apple portable device USB power cable falls apart. I have many friends and family co workers and they all agree the cables are very poorly made and in many cases the cable sheathing wears out or bunches up and eventually you end up with a wire with sheathing peeled back and metal wires exposed which will eventually not be usable. I have had to replace at least 15 Apple USB charging cables for various Apple devices over the years at approximately $20 bucks a pipit adds up. ITS RIDICULOUS I purchase the iPhone 5S and already the cable is frayed and unusable. SO I BEG YOU APPLE DEVICE ENGINEERS AND DEVELOPMENT TEAMS FIX THE POOR QUALITY CABLES SUPPLIED WITH YOUR GENIUS DEVICES!!

    When you see an Apple product you think it would be high quality. The lightning charging cord however is unbelievably horrible. Looks slick but does not last more than a month. On my 9th cord right now.
