Real simple really....the cover does exactly what it says it does. I liked the dark grey cover best as it blends into my office surroundings better. I work in auto sales, and I really don't want the public or any colleagues to know I have one...so the dark grey works great for me, blends in with some books I have.

Cover works perfect as I fold it and make a stand out of it so my clients can watch some videos while I get information for them in my absence. Keeps the folks entertained. All around...solid fit. I don't know why people are having trouble making it work. If a car salesman can get it to work perfectly, anyone else should.

Does not fit the iPad mini. Hangs over the end causing it to pop up in the middle and turn the screen on. The hinge (err lack thereof) is horribly loose and does not hold the cover in the proper position at all. I love apple products but this is the worst product I've used since the Newton.

iPad mini Smart Cover - terrible

I have to say, I am very surprised by some of the negative reviews about this product. It almost made me decide against it. Being I have had the full size in the past, I gave it a try. Just like its bigger sibling, it snaps right on exactly where it is supposed to be. I would have liked to see these come in maybe at $29.00 for the smaller size, but other than that, it works extremely well, just as advertised.

I found the cover to work perfectly - just as designed. It works the same way the smart cover does on the full size iPad . It has a strong magnet on the side for keeping it snug against the edge of the iPad Mini.

I did not find the cover I purchased from the Apple store to separate at all from the surface of the iPad like some others have said. When it's closed, it lays flat against the glass front of the iPad. The cover folds all the way around the back of the iPad Mini if you want to lay it flat.

This is a well designed, well manufactured cover that integrates well with the ultra thin profile of the iPad Mini. It offers great protection without adding any bulk.

Not a fan of the iPad mini Smart Cover. I find that without the additional fold that the larger iPad Smart Covers have, it is very weak. Using it as a stand often results in the case collapsing and the iPad slapping down to the table. The magnets holding the triangle stand together need to be stronger.

Being an Apple product I expect to pay more so I'm not going to complain about the price. First, the good. The stand works well and I like the way the cover snaps shut with the magnets. The bad. I agree with the above complaint regarding the cover not sitting flat. This could have been solved if they would shaved about 1/16 of an inch off the cover. When you hold the ipad with the cover shut your hand presses against the slightly overhanging edges which causes it to push up some in the center. All in all it's a decent cover but I'm sure I'll be replacing it sometime in the future when they're more options.

This is the first time I have used the smart cover. It is great in terms of its lightness and fold-able nature. However, it is very flimsy and it does not stay put for long that its protective role becomes irrelevant as it comes off too easily. At the current price point, this product is disappointing. I am considering of returning it.

This is a nice, simple, and light cover. In dark gray it looks great with my white iPad mini and I appreciate the thoughtful touches like the microfiber finish on the magnetic strip. The Smart Cover also makes it easier to hold the iPad mini in general use, with a good feel both when folded back and when covering the display.

This is perfect for the iPad. I absolutely love it. Great purchase!

$39 cover for my new iPad Mini was a good investment to protect the unit, however, instead of enjoying the Mini and spend the time to set it up, I spent considerable amount of time trying to keep the Mini in one of the only two positions offered by this "smart" case... It drove me crazy as it keeps falling and sliding out of the magnetic hinge...Good for watching a movie but not for typing...
