    Very Disappointed

    I own an iPad 2 and loved the smart cover because of how it protected the iPad screen. I am the type of person where I do not like a lot of accessories, "less is more" type of guy.

    So when I bought my iPad mini, I immediately bought the smart cover and it only took a couple of minutes for me to decide that is was a poorly design product. It was very light weight and when I laid the cover flat on the iPad mini, part of the cover stood up. There was no way to keep it down.

    Luckily apple has a good return policy. I was just really disappointed because I wanted a smart cover but I ended up going to amazon and buying a leather case for my iPad mini for half the price.

    I would give it zero or negative stars if I could. This thing is a piece of junk, doesn't protect anything, you think apple could do a little better. A manilla folder works better.

    I like all the apple products but not the ipad mini smart cover. the first time I took out my ipad to take the pictures, ipad mini slippled from my hand and fell on the ground. The next min I found scraches all over becasue the magnets of the ipad mini smart cover did not hold ipad properly. I am not the person who breaks things easily. I am very careful person and this accident was terrible, lost the joy of using ipad mini.

    Clever but useless as an overall protector

    While it's design is sleek, slim and seemingly clever, it only protects one side of the iPad mini. If you're like me and want it ACTUALLY protected front, back and all 4 sides when you put it in your bag, shop around as this does not fit the requirement. It literally protects one side (front) and acts as a small stand. At $45, there is better value and functionality elsewhere

    Skip this iPad cover and try something else

    I bought my iPad mini to make it easier to carry in my purse, but the smart cover I bought to go with it misses the mark entirely. It slips off and over and up and down with no staying power. This causes a drained battery and potential damage to the unit. Really, Apple? Can't you make a smart cover as good as the original one on my iPad2? Try again, please, and put some serious magnets in the spine.. Until then, I will be shopping after-market products for a solution.

    Worst case ever

    Bought two of these for ipad minis I bought and tested one out and nearly dropped my ipad several times! The magnetic attachment is not strong enough it easily slps out of your hand if you hold it while its folded. They should make the same case for the minis as they do with the regular ipad with the backing attachment and all. I had to return one of mine for another case that apple doesn't sell. Worst item design ever.

    Dont buy this excuse for an ipad mini case, just go with a dodo or speck those guys are getting better. Got this with my ipad mini, doesnt stand very well, falls when in landscape mode a lot... i take it to class with me a lot of times and the case always tends to fall off. the magnet is very poor and is not like the Ipad smart cover. it doesnt even cover the back. Just buy something from a third party rather than this case.

    What an utter waste of money - the product is absolutely useless. It does not do the job - if you just want a cover then it's OK, but not for anything else. The magnet is too week to hold the ipad securely, and if you're not careful then you are at risk of the ipad dropping.

    Don't buy it

    This was a waste of my money. My iPad tips over constantly when I have it standing up to watch anything. Unfortunately the sales clerk failed to point out to me that I could have bought the full case for just 10 dollars more. I didn't realize that til yesterday, and it's far too late to exchange it. Maybe the case Is no goodeither. Who knows. I will shop the internet for something else that may be more reliable.

    Looks great on mini..but

    I had my mini ipad for less than a week. I dropped it and the cover did not do one thing to protect it. The screen cracked and I paid 219 to replace the mini ipad and this time bought the Apple Icare whitch the apple rep sold me for half price. I admit dropping it was my fault. I have had an iphone for many years and dropped it many times and the case I have protected it many times. The apple rep told me there is a time lag for cases for the mini due to it being so new. The case looks great but do not buy it.

    Avoid iPad mini smart covers....

    Having used the awesome Smart Cover for the first iPad I had to give these a try for iPad mini. I was mistaken to think this was somehow better or at least equal to the original...

    Pros: none.. I'm returning both smart covers I bought. They're junk...

    Cons: there's no good way to fold it behind the iPad. Instead of folding it in half like the original, the whole thing fits over the back but it doesn't latch magnetically on the right so it falls. Three creases means the folds are flimsy too and the hinge is no longer metal, rather fabric and its also flimsy.

    Save your money. Get something else.

    Does NOT Protect your Ipad

    This case looks and feels great, but does not protect your screen at all. I dropped it ONE time and the case fell off the second it hit the ground and scratched my screen all up. Do NOT buy this. With this cover you are essentially walking around with no protection at ALL.

    I Pad Mini Cover ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

    Purchaed and received a new I pad mini and COVER .
    The COVER s absolutely hopeless. It falls off, doesn't stand up properly and magnetic cover is easily dislodged.
    What a waste of money $45 Australian and cannot be returned or credited .
    Don't waste your money on this cover and look on line with another company for a cover that encloses all of the I pad Mini.
    VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    Not worth $40

    I was disappointed when I received the cover for my daughter's mini iPad. I thought it would serve as protection for her new iPad mini. The cover doesn't stay on and offers little to no protection. Tried to return but was told it was not eligible for return.

    Doesn't work as a stand

    My husband bought me this cover for Christmas because I needed my iPad to stand freely when I use it for recipes. Although this is a nice screen cover it absolutely does NOT support my iPad. After being propped up my iPad instantly sides down onto the counter or table. It cannot support itself after I remove my hand from setting it upright. For the price this product should do what it advertises! The sleep feature is nice but that's about all this cover does. Extremely disappointed and wish I could return.

    Don't buy

    No protection given to the back or sides of the iPad! There are plenty of other cases out there with the same folding magnetic design and hard shell for the back of the iPad, all of which are £10-£20 cheaper. Disappointed!

    I had a smart cover it disengaged from IPAD when placed on the counter and then hinge hit corner of IPAD and broke the glass., Even though I bought plan and it is still under warranty it is not covered. I feel there is a defect in the design of this cover. My options are to purchase another or send to apple to replace glass $249.00 not including shipping and handling. Not Happy

    Don't waste your money! Outrageous price for what you get!

    I am extremely disappointed with this cover for the price I paid for it. I thought I would buy a proper cover to protect my expensive new ipad mini & forked out £35 for it, which quite frankly is a complete rip off for what is basically a rectangle of coloured polyurethane with a magnet in it that only covers the front screen. It offers very little protection especially from knocks or drops & if you pick up the iPad by the cover the iPad drops off the cover, so be warned!
    I have ended up buying a more substantial case elsewhere which fits like a glove, came in a choice of colours, offers loads more protection, has more features (i.e. rotates so ipad also stands 'potrait' in 2 positions) & came with a stylus, screen protector & cleaning cloth, delivered to my door for just under £10!!! I really wish I had not bothered to buy the Apple cover & saved my money to spend on some Apps instead which I now cannot warrant paying for having wasted £35 on a useless cover which has just been thrown in a drawer probably never to see the light of day again :-(
    The iPad Mini itself however is a fantastic piece of kit.

    Rubbish!!!!!!

    For Christmas I was given an iPad mini from my husband and was really excited! The first working day after christmas I went to the Apple store to buy a mini cover for it as I didn't want to ruin it as i had a friend who had dropped hers before and I didn't want that to happen to mine. So I bought the iPad mini cover in red, it seemed like a good design and I put my trust in the apple product. I got home and attached the magnetic cover and was using it for about an hour when I noticed the cover was leaving a mark on the screen so I tried wiping the screen whilst holding the ipad and the cover in both my hands. The next thing the iPad mini was on the floor screen down I was horrified!!!!! I picked it up and the glass screen was really smashed with a dent in the corner where the on/off buttons is and I was left holding the red iPad mini cover! It had detached itself!!!! The magnetic action was so weak it did not withstand me holding the cover only with the iPad attached so I am left with a smashed Christmas present because the design of the iPad mini is so weak!!!!! It easily detached!!!!! Fortunately it is still functioning but it looks awful now!!!!! I am meeting with Apple on Friday to discuss this disastrous situation!!! If I had known the magnetic fitting was so weak I would NEVER have bought it!!! The whole idea of buying the cover was to protect the screen but in fact it did quite the opposite!!!!!! I now own a smashed iPad mini!!!! Here's hoping for a good result with my meeting with Apple on Friday!!!! I would not recommend this product at all in fact I think they should take it off the market!!!!!
