This version of Mac OS X is incredibly fast and has lots of new features! This OS has proven its true awesomeness to me. It has fast and easy installation. This OS is definitely better than Windows, Linux, and everything else. The only thing is that it might not be compatible with older programs and software. I recommend this OS to everybody who owns a computer! I have this on my MacBook and have not found any problems with it. THIS IS A MUST HAVE UPGRADE IF YOU HAVE MAC OS X LEOPARD OR OLDER! One of my favorite features is how they made an app store for this OS and higher! GREAT OS.

So I have a late 2009 MacBook and I was fine with Leopard. But I wanted to have access to the App Store and was thinking of possibly upgrading to Lion. Overall, I was pleased with Leopard and had no major complaints. The bad reviews kept me away for a minute but the $30 upgrade was getting to sweet to pass.

It took about 35 minutes to install. I didn't encounter any glitches or hiccups. After the installation all my apps and data were intact and ran smoothly. Very smooth process and I would definitely recommend the upgrade.

First of all, this installed pretty quick, compared to Leopard's installation. Overall, Snow Leopard is pretty good. It has many features after updating to version 10.6.8.
It is much, much faster than Leopard. Best OS I've ever used.

After installing snow leopard today and updating it there is a huge difference on my 2007 macbook. This is probably due in part to the first reinstall of an operating system in 4 years but none the less, it has made an noticeable improvement over leopard. Applications open faster, Flash doesn't slow my computer to a halt, dashboard loads very quickly, and the internet is faster. For $30 i'd say it was very, very much needed.

My Macbook was running great under Leopard but then I tried upgrading to Snow Leopard and the install failed three times and hosed my system and now I can't even use the recovery discs. I still have a year of applecare so they will have to pay for it but beware.

Generally my 2007 iMac has worked fine (had bluetooth problems) but in December I upgraded to iPhone 4 which was not compatible with my version of itunes. To upgrade iTunes I needed at least leopard os (I had 10.4). That worked well but then I figured I would get the most recent os to avoid that problem in the future. Loading snow leopard worked fine, but once I did the system updates then my computer would
-freeze all the time
-id get the rainbow wheel forever
-it would not wake up from sleep mode
The only fix is to shut the thing off. A friend gave me some tips
1) reset pram: from off push pwr and cmd, and letter p and letter r all at same time while computer chimes
2) from off, press start button and hold
3) to boot in safe mode, from off hold shift key while computer turns on

I installed it and I was pleased with the speed of Safari and how glossy everything else was. Then I attempted to print a page from my Chemistry book and guess what. Well my printer didnt work. I tried installing printer updates and re setting my my printer but nothing worked. So what I have left is to simply get rid of the snow leopard and go back to the older version. I was planning on buying the Lion but why should I waste my money?

Upgraded from leopard to snow leopard because safari was out of date, i have aperture 2.1 version and it does not work, will not open, with snow leopard. im guessing i have to upgrade that now ,going to call in about that. i did notice that start up takes a few seconds longer but it isn't a big deal, i need to upgrade my memory anyway that may help it.

I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I think it is unbelievable that in order for me to upgrade to the Lion (or now the Mountain Lion), I have to purchase all of the previous versions. I understand that it is definitely a lot cheaper than upgrading on a PC, but it's a waste of $29.99 (buying Snow Leopard to upgrade to Lion which is ANOTHER $29.99) or $59.98 (buying Snow Leopard AND Lion to upgrade to the Mountain Lion which is probably ANOTHER $29.99) as I won't even be using the versions I'm paying for other than downloading the next version. Pretty soon there will be softwares and programs that REQUIRE these higher versions, and I will pretty much be forced to upgrade. I don't understand why we are getting a new version every year. It just seems that once somebody gets used to one version, another comes out.

Snow leopard is awful. I got it because I needed a newer operating system to run maya and mudbox, but it was so not worth it. I've had it for about a week now, and I've gotten error messages I've never seen before, and had to restart my computer like four times. I've been having problems that I never had with leopard, and I'm seriously thinking about uninstalling it.
