    Excellent

Set up took a matter of minutes from a wired connection to having my own wifi network.

I am in love with AirTunes, particularly when coupled with the Remote application for iPhone. Listening to music feels so free now.

My only disappointment with it so far is that only music can be streamed via AirTunes. When I watch movies or TV programmes I have bought from iTunes, their audio is only played through my MacBook's speakers. I've sent Apple feedback about this.

If your electronics/entertainment thus far centres around Apple (iTunes, iPhone, iPod Touch...), this is a great addition.

As an extra note, it's crazy to think that this is a router. Look at the design of other routers; bulky, antennae, blinking lights everywhere, cables?! If every company took as much pride in their design as Apple, everyday life would be that much more pleasing to the senses.

    Best Wireless Device Yet

I have never owned a wireless device till I jumped on board with Apple. Starting off with a Macbook and now Airport Express this is just awesome. This is so simple, all you have to do is plug it in to 110ac and your set, you have your own wifi station with security and airtunes which runs through itunes is awesome playing music with no wires attached. WAY TO GO APPLE!!

I have had an airport express for about 4 years now and its still working. I initially had problems with it when i was trying to use it to extend a Verizon wireless base. It really didn't want to do that. But i eventually got an Apple Airport Base and it works fine with it.

I currently use it to stream music is to some speakers. Occasionally it drops the signal. but i am in an apartment with 5 other wireless networks so there is a good deal of interference.

Setup is terrible, but after that...

There are many good and bad things about this product.
Pros - Does what it says, really good for wireless streaming. I recommend the AIRFOIL app to stream any audio wirelessly.

Cons - Setup was terrible, I had to "trick" it to get it to work, manuel was unhelpful, forums were useless, connection sometimes drops

Tip - if it doesn't connect wirelessly, use an ethernet cable running from the device to your computer.

Best thing to happen to music since ITunes!

Although perhaps not immediately clear, the point of the Express Base station is to act as a network router; within that function is the ability to print and stream music wirelessly.
My desired set up was to plug one base station into my modem and use it as a wireless router for the internet and have a set of speakers plugged into this for downstairs. The other was for upstairs, solely for speakers.

It should be explained that even with the Airport Utility aiding you, this is essentially the setup of a wireless network and isn't easy even for the seasoned user. In addition, I sourced an old version of the base station which didn't have 802.11n. This wasn't a problem, this one went downstairs attached to the modem and stereo while the other (with 802.11n) went upstairs as a node.

What I did initially (which may be the issue others are having with their own setups) was try to set up the network up alongside the one i already had established (an 802.11 G network). Obviously this wasn't compatible as the Mac couldn't run 802.11n and 802.11g together. I abandoned the 802.11g network and now have my Mac using 802.11n all the time.

I now have a fantastic wireless internet setup as well as Airtunes in perfect working order letting me listen to music all around the house. In combination with the remote app for IPhone, i have a comprehensive wireless remote as well! Its probably the best thing to happen to music since ITunes...

I don't know, it just keeps dropping the network almost every single day since I bought it. Really bothers me because no matter how set you've got your network it always drops.

Sometimes I just want to access Internet from my ipod touch and I just can't until I restart with my macbook the network...

Great size, you can easily create wi fi networks and the airtunes part is amazing.

HOWEVER, it's a shame this airport express was good on paper but so so bad performing...

Connected in minutes without a problem and with ease to my Extreme base. Apple TV connect to TV and surround-sound AMP whilst Express bases connected to separate
hi-fis and the DNLA function of my Panasonic V10 (this will add be fab functionality when BBC iplayer is released for Panasonic TVs until them the DNLA and Viera cast functions are pretty poor compared to Apple TV. The remote app on the iPhone allows me to select playlists, stream music and choose multi speakers without the need to turn on my TV or computer.

This device is a real headache. First, it does not use a standard DHCP protocol, so it won't fetch an IP address when joining a non-Apple WiFi base station. Second, it only uses TKIP (worse) for encryption, not AES (whereas most other Apple software does). Third, after a while, it will just stop working, it will just disappear from my Macs' reach. I have to reconnect an Ethernet cable, reconfigure and reboot it.

The initial wireless setup was very easy, and the AirTunes support has worked on my PC and my roommates Mac without issue. I did have a problem setting up our HP printer on our PCs at first, but eventually got it to work by going through the Windows setup instead of the Airport Utility. In the end only frustrating for the first couple of days until I was able to figure it out. Since then, I've been printing and listening to music wirelessly and have had amazing download speeds on all computers. Would definitely recommend.

Before Christmas I bought a flat screen TV and received a Sony Blue Ray Disc player as part of the purchase. The guy at the store told me the disc player was Internet or Netflix ready. So anyway, I read up on this Netflix enabled disc player and learned that I can plug it directly into my router and it connects to Netflix and your account and you can stream movies directly to your player. Kind of cool. My TV however is on the opposite side of my house from my router, so in that case they recommend you buy a “Wireless Bridge” that basically is a portable router that I can move anywhere and plug something into it...like my disc player...and it connects to the Internet. Sony specified a Linksys WET610N for this job. I spent 3.5 hours trying to set this up, trying to get it to work, resetting it, researching, reading, and trying again to get it to work. After many failures I gave up for the night and put the kids to bed without a movie. The next morning I was still pondering what I could do to get this working and right before I called the hotline a thought occurred to me. I had an Apple Airport Express streaming music in my house. So I went and found it and proceeded with the installation process of the Airport Express, which consisted of these steps; 1) plug the Airport Express into an outlet, 2) plug the Cat5 cable into the airport express. I then looked at the TV and lo and behold, connected! Done. Total time trying the make the Linksys Bridge work, ~3.5 hours and it still didn’t work. Total time to make the Airport Express work, ~3 minutes. Done and working! Amazing!

    Works great.

Got 2 connected to my Basestation Extreme. extends my wifi, but the most important thing for me is the way it beams music, one beams with Optical cable to my amplifier the other to a set of active bang & olufsen speakers in my kitchen, works great.

Paired with apple remote (iphone/touch) and a server running itunes client, music is made easy.

My wife loves the setup and uses it with ease.

Pricing is low compared to that of the sonos sound system or logitech Squeezebox

I was able to get it to work with my MacBook after spending about a half hour trying. But getting it to work with my Windows 7 box is a huge problem that I still can't find any way to fix.

It sounded like a good idea but would never recommend any one buy this thing.
