    Great... when it works.

    • Written by from East Hills

As I already own an iPod touch and Nike+ joggers, I decided to buy this despite the mixed reviews. And I don't regret my choice - it's rather cheap, and it's a great motivator. As I don't have a smartphone, a GPS app is not an option for me.

However, the software needs a serious re-working. To listen to a specific album, you have to put it into a playlist (rather then being able to select it off the bat). But most frustratingly, occasionally runs don't sync, and the process to finding them is ridiculous, and in some cases doesn't even work. With two giant companies behind this, I don't see why they can't provide an update to simply make their product work as advertised. It is ridiculously infuriating to lose runs.

For the most part, everything works great and I love it. But be warned that runs will likely (not just possibly - likely) not sync, and you will be pulling your hair out trying to fix it, then getting more frustrated when the fixes don't work for you.

    Good Battery Duration

    • Written by from Brisbane

Despite it is not possible to replace the battery, the standard one is a long duration battery. I have used it for almost 4 months and it is enough for me. You just have to put the sensor in sleep mode when you are not going to use it for long time (2 or more days for me) and the battery level will keep in a good level for long time.

    Good product, but....

    • Written by from Bracknell

I love the sensor and it seems to work. I find it really supports my running training.

What I don't like is that I have now the Iphone with sensor, the latest Ipod Nano with a pedometer. Now I could finally get the Pulsar belt for heart rate monitoring. It would be so nice for a change to have all these functions within one Apple gadget. Also, my iphone does not play music on some of the speakers I have for my ipod. Have not tried the Nano yet. Chargers do not seem to be compatible amongst ipod gadgets either. PLEASE can you not unclutter my life and drawers, by making thins cross compatible?

    Fun Toy

    • Written by from Swift Current

It took me a couple of sensors before I got one that worked. I like being able to track my mileage and time per km, as well as personal bests. Makes me want to run more often!

    Accuracy

    • Written by from RATHMINES

I have found the sensor to be inaccurate especially when running up and down hills. It is fun though and keeps me motivated. Its inaccuracy is fine as long as it tells you that you are going faster than you really are and not the other way round.

    Awesome, But Register It!!

    • Written by from Toronto

Obviously, when it's working, it rules. Everyone who runs with Nike+ will tell you the same thing: it makes fun runs more fun and training - for speed, distance or both - way easier.

ONE THING: make sure you register it as soon as you buy it. It says it has 1000 hours of juice but mine ran out of batteries long before that. It has a year-long warranty and most of the time if the battery isn't up to snuff, you'll know before then. If you register, Apple is amazing about giving you a new one. If you don't register? You're definitely in trouble.

Works great, and is super motivating!

    • Written by from Nanaimo

I've had it for a month now, it works well straight out the box, but even better when calibrated. Turning the sensor to sleep mode is not necessary unless you want to use your shoes for things other than running. Also you can get a strap so that you don't have to have Nike Shoes. If you want to run and stay motivated, get this for your iPod.

    Works Great

    • Written by from Spanaway

The sensor works great. It was very easy to connect to my ipod and is incredibly accurate. My only complaint is that there is no way to tell if the sensor is on or off short of trying to connect to it from your ipod.

    Love it!

    • Written by from Memphis

I've had my sensor for a year now, and have logged about 500 miles so far. I used it initially with my ipod nano, and now with my iphone and it works great. I haven't had any problems with battery life and haven't had to replace it yet. My only problem was during my last half marathon- I couldn't get it to link with the phone and I did the whole race without it. It's very accurate and consistent for me (5'4") but isn't accurate at all for my husband (6'4").

Don't know what I would do without it!

    • Written by from Cornwall

I love this product! I've tracked all my runs for the past two years. It is a life saver for training. I travel a lot and I can always get my runs in without having to plan out distances wherever I am. Its great to see progress too!
I've had two sensors now and will probably need a new one soon, so they could improve the battery life or make a unit with replaceable batteries for convenience and enviro reasons. Also, I find its good to recalibrate it once and a while. Seems to lose accuracy after a while. But hey, it helps me tremendously so I'm not complaining!

Great and lasted longer than expected

    • Written by from North Ryde

I was surprised about the accuracy of the sensor. Also the battery in my case lasted reasonably long (almost 2 years). Overall I will keep using it, as it keeps motivating me to go out for runs.

Good product but needs improvement on some angles

    • Written by from North Hollywood

While it does it's purpose, like everyone's complain battery life is indeed the problem. It is ridiculous to buy replacement every couple of months. Now, may i also suggest Nike to add a clip to the sensor that way we dont have to buy a 5$ pouch from a retail store.

Great Way to Track My Runs

    • Written by from Arlington

I've customized all my running habits onto one easy program. It's great to track my good and bad days. Although a heart rate monitor attachment would make it better, I still get what I need from this equipment.
    Good job Nike & Apple.

great for keeping track of workout

    • Written by from Mountain View

Nike Plus combo is great for keeping track of your workouts and evolution. The battery of my sensor only died after approximately 500 miles which seems relatively fair. The only bug in the system is when your first sensor dies and you need to replace it with a new one - there the migration of your old data from your old sensor to your new sensor on the Nike+ website isn't that seamless... however if you follow the instructions, it does work!
