    Nice Concept but has bugs!

    I really liked the sensor, but, as others have indicated, it keeps pausing mid-workout. It's so frustrating. It pauses for no reason and, when you try to resume workout, it asks to "walk around to activate sensor", but it never activates. This has happened numerous times now, and I've only had the sensor for two weeks. Plus, it keeps coming out of my shoe. This morning, it fell out somewhere along the way and you know...I don't feel bad at all.

    Not Good

    This gadget thing is not accurate at all I run a mile in about 9.30 and it keeps giving me inaccurate distances. I recently did a 5K and at the end of it all it said I had done 1.94K Even after calibration

    Reading innacurately

    I do not need motivation to run or workout. I feel the IPod Sensor is very inaccurate. On my first calibration attempt i walked a mile, and the sensor read .13 miles. the most i could calibrate it at was .35 so i did the best i could. I then ran a mile at an average pace, and it said I ran less than a half a mile. I calibrated it to .75 which was the most it would let me at the time. Since then i have been able to calibrate it to the distance i run. But i have to calibrate it is always anywhere from .25 to a mile and 1.5 miles off. Even if I run the exact same rout over again. I will give it a couple hundred miles, but if it does not start calibrating somewhat accurately, I will probably just launch it into the ocean with a sling shot.

    Great WHEN it works

    This is great WHEN it works. It fails to connect to my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) 50% of the time. It's become a joke with those I run with because I spend so much time "walking around" to get it to connect. Turning off the iPhone and then back on, sometimes solves the synch issue.

    Also, when a call comes in, even if I keep running or walking while talking, it goes into automatic pause mode!

    Definitely one of the more unimpressive products I've bought through Apple.

    This product is pretty neat when it works. But I've had massive headaches getting the chip to work; getting the website login to work; getting runs to sync. I still can't get it working. I would still recommend the product, but just recognize that you're probably committing to spend time to get it to work as advertised. I hope mine might eventually work as advertised in the future.

    nike sensor

    It works well with time and distance. However, it is defective on the calorie. Today, I was tired and sweating after walking for more than 18 minutes, but it said that I burned 0 calorie. It doesn't work well at all on an elliptical. In brief, it works OK. The price is a little expensive.

    Connectivity problems

    I have been using the Nike + iPod Sensor for a month along with my Iphone 3GS. The most important problem I have is connectivity. Before I start a workout, the application allegedly detects the sensor. But once I start the workout the applications fails to measure my speed or distance. Apparently it looses connectivity. This happened to me already several times. An easy fix is to double check your sensor is working once you start running, but this is annoying as I use another application to train. Moreover, the nike webpage gives you very little info about the actual speed and pace during your workout.

    Great Idea Poorly Executed

    I really wanted to love this thing the way that I love my macbook pro and my iphone but I can't. There are times when it is hit or miss and I constantly walk around in circles trying to calibrate it and nothing happens. Additionally the battery life on this thing is something that needs to be addressed. I can deal with buying a new one yearly but surely there has got to be a someway apple can put an LED on there to let you know the battery is dying or running low. I also don't like the on off button simply because I can't tell if the thing is on or off. Again, an LED light or an ON OFF switch would be more user friendly. That said, when you can get it to work it does it's job and does it pretty well. I just expect it to be more simple from the company that told me to THINK DIFFERENT.

    I would not recommend this product it is inaccurate at tracking the distance you run. I have calibrated the sensor but it seems to be off still. Last one i will buy.

    Terrible Transferability

    This is a wonderful product until you try to upload your workout stats to your computer. Most of the time the moment that the Nike+ sync transmitter is disconnected from your iPod, all information is lost. If this could be rectified it would be stellar.

    love the product but can't to replace the sensor is way to much money.

    I've had no problems with the product but I must complain about a replacement sensor costing nineteen dollars when you the entire thing cost thrity dollars. It almost makes more sense to but everything again. This price point should be lowered.

    Great concept, Very poor implementation

    Lovely idea from the hardware through to nike+ site but on a whole, my experience has been extremely poor. From not being able to sync my sensor, to incorrect run distances, to sensor dropping out halfway through runs with no alert, to nike+ site losing run data and a host of other minor bugs I'm far from impressed with this half baked product.

    Loved it 'till I had to replace it.

    I bought the Nike+ ensemble and enjoyed it while it lasted. When the sensor died I thought it would be a fairly inexpensive thing to replace. 19.00 is way too much. My opinion is spend the money on a GPS device.

    Battery life is really limited. I got the kit for Christmas and by March the sensor battery was dead, despite me putting it to sleep after every run (3x/week). I wonder if some of them ship "on," because it seems like a consistent problem.

    Barely got to use it

    And it died. Horrible battery life, now im forced to go to the store and buy it...again. Ive only had this for about 7 months and the battery is shot. Strongly suggest do not buy unless your gonna fork over another $20 for a new one in a couple months.

    Not for Serious Runners...

    Even after careful calibration - this device is 3-5% off per mile. If you run 8+ miles at a time like I do - this level of accuracy is not acceptable. This might be fine for walkers and casual joggers - but this is not a serious training tool. Garmin 4Runner series is far superior. At $29 dollars, I guess it is a good value - but not for serious athletes.

    Good but not good enough

    I was given 2 pairs of Nike+ shoes as a gift and I naturally became intrigued over the system. Eventually my old ipod photo died and I opted for the iTouch. I was excited to see the Nike+ software pre-loaded so all I needed was the chip. I love to run and I average about 15-20 miles a week. I enjoyed tracking my runs and getting time/mileage updates at the press of a button and when nearing the end of a run. I used the system when running outside or on treadmills. After 5 weeks I noticed the sensor stopped working. I tried to resync and nothing happened. I went online and noticed the numerous complaints of the battery life. So I went out and bought another chip and this time, the sensor would not sync at all with my iTouch. So I returned it the next day. This is a great idea in concept but until Nike/Apple can come up with a rechargeable battery (or at least changeable battery) this product is not really worth it since you have to buy a new chip every time. I am surprised that this area has not been addressed yet considering Apple is known for making small innovative products that can be used repeatedly. So save your money until apple addresses these issues.

    Dead Sensor

    Hey, i purchased my Nike + Sports Kit on Jun 08 and today (2 Feb 09), the sensor is totally dead.

    I received a battery low warning "replace sensor soon" only on last 3 to 4 workouts, but I remember reading somewhere that it will last at least 2 more weeks before the replacement, but to my disappointment, before i can start running today, the sensor totally cannot be detected. I tried to re-link the sensor but failed. The total time recorded is 48.77hrs, total distance 470.86km. But the "promised" lifespan for the sensor is 1000 hours, so how can my sensor be dead this soon ?

    I love it BUT....

    I love the Nike+ concept, but the sensor life issue is really driving me nuts. I am on the third sensor this year. They seem to last me about 3-4 months and then they die. I run 6 days a week and would have thought that this product would last a bit longer. Hey apple - either refine the product or drop the price of a replacement-$19 plus shipping is a little much.
