NO NEED TO BUY FOR iPHONE 3Gs !!!
Written by GB from Paignton
10/12/2009
You do not need to buy this version of the Nike+ Sport Kit if you own a iPhone 3Gs. You can buy the one for £12 for the sensor only as the iphone has a built in receiver so the one in the packaging is not needed !
If you have an iPod Nano you will need to buy this version (with the receiver).
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT; EXCELLENT GIFT IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO LIKES TO RUN !9 of 9 people found this useful

Rubbish
Written by TL from SANTA MONICA
6/12/2009
Dont waste your money. Bought two of these AND a new pair of Nike Plus shoes. Totally inaccurate. Used several tims on a tread mill, calibrated several times. Pace was consistently wrong. For instance at end of 4 miles my distance was off by 0.3 miles stating my paces was 10:30 minutes per mile. Tread mill was showinf I was running consistantly at 7.2 miles per hour. If you are a serious runner and value an accurate tool get a Garmin This is worthless and Im pretty anniyed after having spent 60 bucks and 8- bucks on new shoes for this. Rubbish and frustrating. Nothing more annoying when you have put effort in to a 40 minute run to find rubbish results.

You do NOT need this with Ipod Touch
Written by JC from Dodgeville
3/12/2009
Two staff members at the local AppleStore told me I needed the whole kit. Ordered online as it was on sale and when I plugged the reciever in, the Ipod said there is already a reciever built in to the Touch. Checked it and it works great. Super system but don't waste your money, all you need with Iphoe or Touch is the receiver. Also, there are companies that make great lace on sensor holders, just look in any runners magazine or Google it. I'd give it a 5 star if I hadn't wasted the money.

The Best!
Written by JG from LONDON

I recently started using the Nike+iPod kit and it has helped me to track my running. Also after you have setup an account on nikerunning.com website you can take part in global challenges from other users, you can set goals and targets, add new friends. These tools have helped me to be consistent and motivated.

Great Motivation!
Written by KM from La Mirada

I got Nike+ form a friend who wanted to start running with me, It has been the greatest invention to track your running! I have no problems with it! There are so many different features to it that I find out every time I dedicate more time to look at the Nike+ website; it has a Map It feature which is really great, you also can set the settings where it shows up on Facebook. I love this device!

Great for training
Written by SM from Plymouth
30/11/2009
I bought this to help me keep track of my running regimen. I started training for a marathon and had very strict guidelines on how long my runs had to be. 90% of the time, the Nike+ gear is very reliable and very accurate, but be careful that you don't change your stride and sprint too much, because it does not adjust well to changes in strides.
Overall, it saved me about 1000 headaches in trying to map out routes, especially when I got up to 18 mile runs, where to map out it would be a real pain. Highly recommended for the beginner, pro, or anywhere in between.11 of 13 people found this useful

Don't waste your time or money
Written by TH from Onalaska

Went through two of these in less than a month...I thought I got a bad sensor on the first one since it worked only every so often. Apple was kind enough to send me a new one, at their expense. Got the second one and the same thing happened. It would only "sense" about every other run, sometimes not at all. Very frustrating. Don't waste your time on it or your money in purchasing, then having to ship back to return. Sorry, Apple, no good.

Lost a couple workouts - but overall it is great. No battery or sensor issues. Works great with sensor pocket that can be bought at best but or ebay that attaches to any shoe!

highly motivating
Written by RG from Skaneateles

Highly recommend. Looked at it for over a year before I bought it and now Im hooked. Its been incredibly motivating for me to keep my 3 run a week schedule. Now that you visually monitor your aggregate progress on the Nike site there is no where to hide. With an exacto knife and a little ingenuity you can turn any shoes into Nike+ in minutes. I am 8 months into it with no issues. Do it.

Not very well designed:(
Written by JA from Roswell
23/11/2009
I thought that when I bought it I thought it would be amazing. It was not as amazing as you might be thinking. You can't recharge the battery and it is very hard to turn off. Every six months you will have to get a new one. Also you would have to buy new nike+ shoes. I didn't buy new shoes and when it is in a regular shoe it hurts. When it's in your laces if they are loss it will go flying. Bottom line is that I don't think this was very well
designed. It might work for you, but not for me.38 of 57 people found this useful

No more mapping out your running routes to see how far they are, no more guessing what pace you are running at, and no more notebooks full of logging your runs. The Nike+ does it all. Plus, the online community and ability to post challenges with your friends is just great. Thanks Nike and thanks Apple. This is the type of product I've always wanted.

A number of shortcomings
Written by JM from St Kilda

Well, I have to say that I found this product to be a disappointment for the following reasons:
(1) Once I start a workout I can't switch between playlists. If I am listening to a podcast and want to change to my workout playlist I can't unless I stop my workout and start a new workout. Once I have started a workout, the only music I can change to is the first song in my song list (ABC!). Why can’t I switch to another playlist during my workout?
(2) I can’t select when I receive verbal feedback. I receive no verbal feedback until the half way point of my distance but then near the end of my run I receive feedback every few seconds. Why isn’t there a way for me to select how often I want to receive verbal feedback during my run (eg each 0.5/1 mile)?
(3) There is no way of knowing if my sensor is turned on by looking at the sensor (such as a red led light), no proper on/off switch and no way to change the battery in the sensor. Which means the sensor stays on the whole time and then you have to buy a whole new sensor.
(4) I wanted to buy coaching tracks through Itunes where I could have professional athletes talk me through the various stages of my run. Unfortunately there is barely a handful of coaching tracks in Itunes and you can’t just buy the coaching tips, you have to buy the athletes’ music collection as well. Why aren’t there coaching/motivation tips from more athletes and why can’t I receive these tips whilst listening to my own music?
All in all, this is the only Apple product that I have bought that I have been disappointed with.55 of 61 people found this useful

I must say this is one of the greatest concepts. Works to perfection and it has actually inspired me to work out a little more. As always, user friendly, great interface, plus a great way to keep track of your workout.

Can't say enough

This single piece of equipment has helped me go from a complete non-runner, to someone doing 10k+ non stop. I find it helpful and motivating, and it allows you to compete against yourself.
The price is very reasonable, especially if you already have the nano etc and I get months out of the battery life before having to replace my sensor.
If you are thinking about buying one, or just need something to help make you a bit more accountable - I highly recommend getting it. You don't need the shoes - I just slip the sensor under my laces and wedge it on top of the tongue. Works great!43 of 48 people found this useful

I love using this as a guide to my amateur running. I have recommended to many friends and they feel the same way. The only negative is now that I have a new IPOD, Classic and now I cannot use it! :-( I am upset. The amount of technology we have in this world and Apple cannot figure out a way for this to work w/o effecting the hard drive!
