    it's just OK

Design look good. Include extra battery and can use the ear phone. However ,it's over S$100 but can't play well with deadtrigger 2. There is no joystick to move the screen.

A Quality Product for a good price.

I really enjoy this product for several reasons. First, the product itself is very high quality and seems that it will not break even with extended use. Second, this device is a great idea because it frees up the small screen on the iPhone and allows you to see more of your content. Lastly, the product has such a slim design that slipping it into a pocket feels no different than slipping your phone in. But, it retains its solid feeling even when light.

Great except for one major flaw.

I bought this even though Logitech chose the simpler layout profile. The reasoning is simple, to play games with a SNES layout. Not many games will support the full layout as Apple requires developers to support touch even if the game is meant to be played on a controller. This limits the amount of touch surfaces (thus buttons) to be usable in a tiny screen real estate. So the SNES layout makes a lot more sense to me as a developer and a gamer that plays casual/arcade games on the phone.

The one flaw I have (which some reviews are experiencing as well) is that the d-pad doesn't recognize light presses. Sometimes, d-pad presses are not recognized at all, which is really frustrating. I've posted on Logitech's forum about this and it seems like it's a faulty unit. Will try a replacement in-store and see how it goes. Will add a follow-up review if things change.

    It works... Kind of...

    • Written by from Calgary

The draw of this type of controller is strong for me. I've always looked at dedicated gaming devices like the PS Vita and loved the physical interaction compared to the touch only available on iOS. When the iOS 7 Keynote revealed the built-in support for such a controller, I was joyful! Analog joysticks! Physical buttons!

BUT there are different specs that each manufacturer can choose to use as a template for their controller; Logitech chose the simpler of the options. On the Powershell, you get a 4 way controller, 4 Xbox-style buttons, and 2 shoulder buttons. These all are serviceable, but the lack of fine control in RPG games like Bastion is extremely apparent.

I know reviewing this by stating what it isn't can be viewed as unfair, and maybe it is. But I can say that after using it over the weekend, the basic lack of analog joysticks will have me returning it to the Apple Store and searching for something else.
