    Seriously Impressive

    • Written by from Huddersfield

Ordered from Apple Store and it arrived within 24 hours. Simple to setup and syncs easily with it's own Withings Health app and also MyFitnessPal without any problems.

Quite expensive but recommended for those who want a lot more from their scales!

Excellent scale. Accurate, consistent measurements, easy to set up,and use

    • Written by from Short Hills

Unlike most bathroom scales that give a different reading every time you step on, this scale consistently gives readings that are within a few ounces. If you aren't standing in the right place, it tells you which direction to move, insuring consistency. Set up was ultra easy. Once readings are done, measurements are available at web site or mobile app. There are charts (editable), reminders, suggestions and tips. Tech support response is very thorough and courteous.
It's like having a health coach.
The product is very Apple-esque (if you use Apple products, you'll understand what that means)

    Top Product!!!!

This product along with My Fitness Pal web service has completely changed my approach to weight loss! It tracks both my weight and my wife's perfectly my only compliant would be that does only ever show right weather. In fact it only shows that it is going to rain, which clearly isn't true :)

Accuracy is not one of it virtues...

    • Written by from Humacao

The device is definitely not accurate. It's fancy connection thru the wi-fi and the charting in the iPhone / iPad makes it a great concept, but Withings has a long way to go in terms of accuracy of the device. Usually, I have to step on it several times to get an idea of how much I weight. From the first to the fourth it could give me a difference of 4 pounds in and increasing mode.

    Great product and data!!

    • Written by from Tooele

It was easy to set up and haven't had to do anything with it after the first set up. I have been using it for the past four months and the data it provides has been very useful. I love all the features and that Withings can update the firmware and add features as they're released. The way it syncs with others apps paints a great picture of your overall health. My family of five loves to use it and the ability to push data to a doctor is very helpful.

    Only synced for 3 months

Was fantastic the first few months. But after that, it would no longer sync to my iphone through wifi or bluetooth. So disappointing. Now all i have is a very expensive plain ol scale. smh

Great iPhone app and connectivity for inaccurate measures

    • Written by from Bentonville

Great iPhone application, excellent connectivity through bluetooth and WIFI.

But the scale is accurate to 0.2 lbs on weight measurement. This means that weighting yourself twice in a row would most likely not lead to the same result.

The fat measurement is on the other hand completely unusable in my opinion. And this is not just this scale. Most scale are using a technology that is susceptible to several parameters like your level of hydration. In my case, it means that I ended up with a difference of close to a 2 lbs of fat gained for a decrease of a 1 lbs of mass within 24 hours! Simply impossible considering the activity.

The heartbeat monitoring is working 2 times out of 3 and I can't say if the rain prediction is working. I lives in Seattle, it's always raining anyway!

    Nothing but issues so far.

    • Written by from Milton

The scale itself seems to be well designed and well thought out. Unfortunately neither the iOS app or web dashboard are working 100% for me. The app crashes every time I try and access the My Devices section, which is needed if you'd like to add additional devices, or update the firmware.
The web dashboard won't allow me to edit some user preferences, language and measurements no matter what I set them to won't correctly save. Notifications won't save.

Basically, the iOS app and Dashboard experience have me regretting my purchase.

It was good (but just in the beginning)

    • Written by from Oakville

In the beginning everything was fine, but after 6 months it started to present problems and I contacted the Withings Customer Service. Again, in the beginning the service was good, but after spending one month talking to them and receiving misleading information I'm tired. Hopefully I think the problem will be solved and I should get the replacement the next week. At least that's my hope.

Unfit to Be Sold by Apple

    • Written by from Berkeley

I've had my Withings scale for approximately four months. Other than being beautiful, it's proven to be a mediocre product unworthy of being sold by Apple.

The weight is consistently off by between 1 - 2 lbs. We know this because we use a medical-grade scale at the gym almost daily. The heart rate monitor also is completely inaccurate. I have a resting pulse of 60, yet the scale rates me between 75 and 99 every morning upon rising from bed.

The real problem, however, is the wireless connection. Invariably, it fails after one full day, requiring a cumbersome reset and re-sync. The batteries are charged, yet the wireless connection fails after working for approximately one day. This began happening after a firmware update and has been this way for almost three months.

I would not purchase this product knowing what I now know about it.

Can't use the heart rate monitor

    • Written by from Nepean

If you care about the heart rate monitor functionality at all then don't get this scale. It's wrong at least 40% of the time. I had the unit replaced and the new one was just as bad as the one I sent in. And it can be off by 50 beats per minute. Completely useless. And support will just tell you that you are using it wrong. Will never buy another Withings product again.

Good but multi-user setup is horrendous

    • Written by from Newport on Tay

This is a great product IF you intend to pair it with one iPhone and just have one user, the setup in that case is simple and flawless.

However, in my case, my partner and I both wanted to use the scales independently, with each of us having our own account on our own iPhone. Succeeding in the setup for this was a total pain. Involving many resets, app deletes, account creations, data deletions and ultimately having to use a combination of iPhone and the both the old and new Withings website to get it setup how we wanted - and how the product promised.

Great device, but let down by an opaque and immature software setup process.

Don't bother, too expansive and isn't accurate

    • Written by from London

I've had it 24hrs and I'm returning it to Apple. Doesn't work on carpet, despite the 'carpet feet' that it comes with. BPM is way too high - I've had resting BPM of 89, 92 and 99! I'm a hiker in my 30s. When I came home after being at work it needed to be re-synced with my iPhone - 'Setup Failed' 4 times, so I had to delete the scale and go through the installation process again. £129 - maybe for generation 4 is out.

    Impressive

    • Written by from Lafayette

I was hesitant in buying this scale because of the price but I ended up loving it. I hate to step on scales but I needed to track my weighloss after WLS. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it guides my progress very well. I do have problems with it registering my heart rate so that's the reason I could not give it 5 stars. I never figured out the reason for the air quality monitor but hey the more features the better. It was easy to set up and sync to my phone and it also syncs to My fitness pal which I love.

    Amazing Product

    • Written by from Loughton

Let’s face it; these are about 3 x the price of the average set of scales. However, in my opinion, they are 10 x as good.
They give you an average weight so if you haven’t eaten all day, or if you've just had a meal, the graph will not be too skewed.
Air quality, BMI, and heart rate are also useful tools.

    Not so smart body analyser...

    • Written by from London

a good looking bit of kit, simply designed and a great idea to sync up with the iPhone and lifestyle apps, and help you track weight etc. Setting up was a doodle, but after a day or so the scales got confused as to which family member was standing on them. not only that, the weights were extremely variable each time you had a weigh in. we reset, re synced, and eventually re turned. We gave it a chance and wanted it to be as good as it promised, but were sadly disappointed.

    Don't waste your money

    • Written by from Magog

I had high expectations for this products as it could provide feedback as I am trying to lose weight. Setting it up was easy although there was definitely lack of instructions about using the app.
For a while I was happy as I was regularly loosing weight. Then I got suspicious about the readings as my girlfriend's weight was getting abnormally low and you could not really tell by looking at her. We then tried our old scale and found a huge discrepancy.
I read the support on the company's website and tried to do a reset by removing the battery. Still totally wrong. I can weight myself 4 times at one-minute interval and get 4 different readings with a discrepancy in excess of 10 pounds.
I may as well as my girlfriend to look at me and guess my weight. Total waste of money. Too bad, I'd like it to work.

    The Best Option

    • Written by from Bellevue

I tried a wifi scale from another company, and was wildly disappointed with it. That model took me more than 2 hours to set up and then dropped all settings the next morning. So, after reading a few more reviews, I bought the Withings model from my local Apple store.

The Withings scale was really easy to set up -- I think I set mine up in under five minutes. The iPad app is pretty nice, but more importantly for me is that the data syncs with the rubiTrack app, which I've used for three years. Having all of my fitness information in one program was an important aspect of my choice and Withings didn't let me down there.

Well worth the money; highly recommend.
