    Works great!

    • Written by from Vancouver

This product has been working great for me!
Aside from having to manually set up audio and video to mirror my mac (on the first use) its just plug in and go!
I've had it for over a month now and its still working great.
A little overpriced but thats true of all things apple.

Doesnt work well, incredibly cheap. Belkin is garbage, I don't know why apple is selling this.

Nothing but signal problems. Connector is not firm at back of my Mac mini. I'll be taking this back and purchasing a different product. Don't buy it.

    False Hope

    • Written by from Troutdale

This product is horrible! Bought it online, had to troubleshoot why the sound didn't work, fixed that and then not even two weeks later the product won't connect to my tv! Everything works, tried the hdmi cable with my dvd player, worked. Switched hdmi ports on the tv that work with the dvd play, no signal. Tried it with my roommates brand new macbook air (which worked perfectly with the the adapter when we first got it), no signal. The product gives you only about two months if you're lucky. Avoid at all costs.

    Disappointed beyond £25.00

    • Written by from london

I have had the Belkin Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter for less than 3 months and as other has said it is not working. I paid £24.99 for something that does not even last 6 months. For all Apple say about their products or associated product as being the best, I can say that they are letting us down with this shuddy products.

Apple! WHat do you think you are playing at endorsing such lo quality and poorly user rated products?
It goes against everything Apple stands for to sell such poorly made and unreliable products.

Shameful, appalling, i'm so disappointed. It seems impossible to buy a Mini DP > HDMI cable that lasts over 2 months.

    No audio

    • Written by from Liverpool

Just received mine today. I knew about the bad reviews but I didn't believe Apple would allow themselves to market a poor quality item. I was wrong.
Incidentally , as the goods were faulty I am entitled to the return postage refunded by law. I will let you know if they are to do this.

Can not express how confused I am over Apple selling this item knowing it has proved to be everything Apple are not.

Failed to function properly right after purchase. The connection seems to be loose even when fully plugged into the thunderbolt slot on my Macbook Pro. The view on the my Tv would come on and off. Tested using another HDMI cable and another HDMI slot on TV, the problem is most certainly the adapter.

Broke first day of use - would give 1/2 star if possible

    • Written by from Needham

I bought this adapter at the Apple Store near me so we could play movies on our t.v. from the computer. First day of use, my son was using it to put his video game up on the t.v. and the MiniPort end came loose and no longer worked. VERY disappointed. This adapter should be more rugged than this.

Literally used this adaptor under 10 times and it has already stopped working. Truly pathetic. I would expect this from a cheap adaptor but not from a 25 pound belkin from apple, very very unimpressed, do not buy this product, everything about it is bad, the mini display port male end is flimsy, and has fallen out from the plastic housing, kind of like apples chargers (sort that out as well, apple)

    Broke in a month

Like some of the other reviews suggest, this product is way overpriced. I would expect such cheap manufacturing from a cheap $5 eBay purchase straight out of china. Funny how apple has not yet responded to this by providing a better alternative.

    Do Not Buy!

    • Written by from London

It is a shame this is on the apple.com official site.
I purchased this adapter with a MacBook Air in September of 2013. While I have successfully connected my 2008 iMac to a TV with a cheap adapter from ebay, this product, endorsed by the apple store, has not worked once. More recently attempted uses seem to relate to a crashing computer. DO NOT BUY.

Why Apple would use such a useless Mini DisplayPort connection for their customers to join the MacBook Pro to a HDTV, I cannot fathom. Paid $35 from an Apple store for this product, and was unable to make any connection with it. Then I read the 62 pages of complaints and rants about the Thunderbolt port and realized it was not the Belkin connection that is faulty, but the laptop itself. We are likely going to purchase a cheap $400 laptop so that it can be connected to the TV with an ordinary HDMI cable and we can watch downloaded movies on the big screen like other people!!

I expect more from an adapter that cost $35! (And probably cost 50 cents to make). Belkin, are you reading these reviews?! Where is the quality control!?

I bought this in the Apple Yorkdale store for a presentation. Drove to a different city and it did not work. The venue gave me their adapter and it worked proving the computer port and cable. Tried once again to a different TV in another city. What a waste of my time. Took it back, no point in trying another one after reading the reviews here.

Both are broken within a month

    • Written by from Hurstville

I think this is the first product ever I have rated as 1-star, Apple please address this serious issue before your brand is being permanently damaged by such inadequate third-party product.

The first one I got lasted for two months, then it is no longer working. Decided to get a second one, base on the believe of Apple recommended products are usually very good quality, but even worse, only this time only lasted for a month. I know it can be replaced under warranty, but I don't think the root problem is resolved.

Until the time this product is being redesigned, feel so sorry that effectively there is no official recommended product for any Apple computer to allow mini-display export to HDMI reliably.

I've gone through 2 of these since September. Obviously they worked flawlessly up until their demises, but you'd expect that from an adapter that cost you £25. It's simply not acceptable that they fail after only a few months. Heed my, and others reviews, warnings and steer clear of this product.

only held up for 2 1/2 weeks

    • Written by from edwardsville

so when i first got this cable i knew it was faulty because when i plugged it in it simply didn't work. after some jiggling and maneuvers i found that it worked if you held it in a certain position, but it only worked in that position. needless to say i knew it would fail eventually, but rather then returning it right away i decided to make it work and see how long it would hold up. only 2 1/2 weeks later it fell apart completely. as in the metal thunderbolt end fell out of the plastic connector. it was only held in by hot glue. complete piece of s###
