    Needs minor improvements

    • Written by from Olmsted Falls

I am using MyFitnessPal for quite some time, and heard that this device connects with MyFitnessPal. I wanted to know more about my activities, calories burned and my sleep pattern, so I have this one a shot.
Setting it up was extremely easy, it does NOT come with a manual, everything is online available these days. I connected right away with the iPhone app. Only thing I still don't understand, it chowed steps taken before I even started using it. But so what.
I clip it to my t-shirt of bra strap and it doe not bother me, it is actually much smaller than I thought. The wristband for the night is a total joke. The material is nice soft, but putting it on is a struggle, because you have to kind of hold it and close the Velcro at the same time, not easy if you have nobody to assist you. But I read the Q & A section on the website, and a lot of users suggest to put it on your ankle, which I will try tonight. The sleep tracker told me this morning that it took me 9 minutes to fall asleep, and that I slept 4 hours and 57 minutes, the details do not show much movement, so I must be a quiet sleeper.
I think the step counter is a little off, just by walking through the house this morning doing my daily chores shows I walked over 500 steps already, really? Well, maybe it is correct.
I like this little thing, it gives you a little insight about activities. I will set the alarm feature for tonight and see how the vibrating alarm works when I wear it on my ankle.

Great Product : Much better than expected

    • Written by from Brisbane

We did a lot of research on fitness products and chose the Fitbit One. We have not been disappointed.

The best thing about the FitBit one is the display. It means you do not have to connect to the dashboard or an app to see how you are going during the day. I look at the Desktop dashboard every morning to see my results and sleep patterns for the previous day and then just refer to the One during the day with out the hassle of syncing to iPhone or iPad.

The product is easy to set up and the dashboard is really great. No advertisements! I really like the sleep monitoring function. I find it really accurate.

We paired it with the Aria scales and they are really great for measuring you Bodyfat % and BMI.

I prefer to wear it in my pocket as I have a watch so don't need anything on my wrist.

    Would buy again.

Great device, seamless sync, food database needs work

    • Written by from Washington

I wish I could give the fitbit-one four-1/2 stars. The device and backing database couldn't be better really. It's tiny, accurate, and syncs flawlessly with my iPhone. Fit bit has really helped me change my behavior by knowing the fitbit is tracking every movement. And the competition between me and two friends has provided lots of additional motivation. As someone with a background in behavioral psychology, I couldn't recommend the fitbit more.

The only downside is the food database on the website/mobile device. It's limited as compared to the competition. In the end I went back to using the Livestrong/MyPlate food database and the fitbit for everything else.

    I highly recommend the fitbit-one.

    Great Product.

    • Written by from HUNTINGTON WOODS

I have owned this device for now 2 months, I love it.
Activity wise, it is a smart pedometer, and can monitor stairs/floors. You end up doing more to try to reach your set goals. I did not give it 5 stars because there I think a 5 star product should monitor calories not only by how you walk and go upstairs, but when doing other activities it should include a way to track heart rate. That is probably the only negative. I wear a HR monitor with calorie counter watch to get as close as possible to actual calories burnt on exercises. The app lets you add your own calories burnt, which is cool.
As to sleep, it is no different than a standard actigraph. It senses movement and it is a very accurate way of measuring actual sleep time.
I am ordering another one for my wife and possibly one for my mother soon, if that means anything to buyers.
True it can easily get lost, I have wasted at least a good 20-30 minutes trying to find it. Careful not to leave it in clothing, or it my end up in the washer. Charging? 2 hours once a week. I sometimes do it fi on the computer or watching a movie. You can track battery life in app.

Overall it is a great product.

The distance is one tenth of reality

I would love my fit bit if it recorded the right distance! I have done 8,970 steps today and only have 0.07km recorded. :-(

Good sleep monitor, HOPELESS activity tracker, good app

    • Written by from Georgetown

Cannot use it track whole daily activities - it showed me burning 328 calories on a 6 hour car trip when it was in my suitcase.
For logged activities, device shows up to double the calories burned when compared to GPS based or description based activity logging. The estimates of floors climbed can be up to three times higher than actual. I delete entries in My Fitness Pal made by Fitbit and either halve them or substitute them with figures from more accurate devices.
Sleep monitor is excellent, app is excellent.

Syncing and Pedometer are great! Sleep tracking useful.

    • Written by from New York

I've been using the FitBit Flex for a weeks now. The wireless syncing makes this easy to use. You can track your steps, mileage and calorie burning. Take the calorie burning accuracy with a grain of salt; what's more important is the consistency and trend of all of the metrics. The Fit Bit also integrates well with MyFitnessPal and the the Aria can track your weight and body fat percentage. The sleep tracking will track end-to-end from when you lay down until you wake up; it also keeps track of the number of times you wake up at night. Still not sure how well it calculates the number of hours you sleep. Again, I think the absolute number is not as important as the trend and day-to-day comparisons. For people who like to utilize data to track and improve your health, this is a great device. Would like to see a more seamless integration of other biometrics such as heart rate monitoring, but overall this is a very good product.

    Fitbit One

    • Written by from Tucker

After trying out the Fitbit Zip, I fell in love. I wanted to upgrade to the Fitbit One for the additional features. It syncs seamlessly with my iPhpone 5 and Macbook pro. I LOVE the sleep tracking feature and and realtime LED display/readout. I have not encountered any problems, even when washing it (being water resistent and sweat proof) so it made it through just fine. Great design and small enough to not be in the way while using it. I also love the stairs features that does not come with the Zip and keeps accurate statistics... Would definitely recommend to anyone.

    IPhone App Crashes Continually

    • Written by from Sparks

I like the FITBIT. I don't like that I have to sync it to my MAC and not my IPHone. The IPHONE App continually crashes. I have removed and reinstalled the app 4 times. No help from FITBIT after sending emails. Returning it today to Apple store.

    Great Product! Definitely Impressed!

    • Written by from Waterbury

I've lost 15 pounds in 1.5 months using this device!! Follow it's instructions and you will never go wrong. You need to commit to counting your calories and wearing it constantly. The sleep tracker is a little weird, but everything else is great! The floor counter takes into account barometric pressure, so if you walk up a hill, it counts as a floor, not just stairs!

People complain about losing it, but I wonder if they're following the instructions on how exactly to wear it! if you clip it TO your pocket or waist, you're supposed to clip it such that the clip is on the outside and the fitbit is largely inside your pocket/waist!! I've never lost it once, or come close to losing it like this!!

If you are serious about losing weight. Get one.

    • Written by from PERTH

I bought this with the idea of losing weight.

    It has helped me immensely.

The belt clip for the Fitbit is more than adequate and my thoughts are that the only way you would lose it, was if you left it either in the belt clip or in your pocket and decided to wash it.

    Would recommend Fitbit to anyone.

    • Written by from New York

To be honest the only complain I have is the fact that the app needs alot of work. I placed mine on the center part of my bra and its has stayed in placed with no fears of losing it. I forget I have it on, but I love it because I feel like I need to reach my goals at all times.

The Fitbit One is a great innovative way to track activity, diet and sleep patterns.

We have one each and it allows you to connect and compare progress which adds more fun.

The iPhone/iPad wireless sync makes it even simpler to keep progress up to date.

The support from Fitbit is on a par with if not exceeding Apple which is the highest praise I can think of.

    Fitbit One

    • Written by from lakeville

This is a great product for monitoring activity. Like others i lost mine, and the Bluetooth told me it never left the house. When I found it I was loading the washer. i had it for 3 weeks and I decided to take it back since The Fitbit flex is coming out in spring.
Like I really liked ,but it was easy to loose. In the mean time I have my Little square Nano to track my steps.

    Great product, while it lasts...

    • Written by from Woodvale

I have owned both a Fitbit Ultra and the new One. The Fitbit Ultra was great to use and it encouraged me to reach my daily goal of 10,000 steps. The 'dashboard' did not work properly on my Windows 8 tablet so I had trouble synchornising it to look at my progress. I grew frustrated with this so I switched to a Fitbit One which synchronized much more reliably via bluetooth with my iphone.

The products are great but they are too easy to lose.
I lost my Ultra twice while walking around at work, and being a large complex it took me a while both times to find it. I was wearing it on my belt both times I lost it, so I started carrying it in my pocket to avoid losing it again. However, it provides more accurate readings when worn on the belt, particularly when you climb 20 floors per day, but it only records 3.

When I switched to the Fitbit One, I lost it within 12 hours and never found it.
The belt clip on the One is much worse than the one in the Ultra.
I was very upset to lose it so soon and waste the money.
I wish Fitbit offered to replace it with a new one, but that is just wishful thinking.

I miss having such helpful device, so now I am looking to switch to a Nike Fuelband or the Jawbone Up. Both are bracelets, which I hope I will not lose so easily.

I am sorry Fitbit, but you have lost a loyal customer. I will not be purchasing the Fitbit scales now, althout I know I couldn't lose that product as easily...

    LIFE SAVER

so far i have lost 23kg with the help of fitbit. It is accurate and works really well, the app for the iphone is very easy to use and if your serious about wanting to lose weight this product can be of great assistance. I found the clip to be stronger than expected and have wore it every day and night for the past 3 months. The battery lasts for over a week and its a great motivator.

    Perfect for tracking your progress

    • Written by from Prahran

Not sure about the negative comments on this site. It works as advertised. You carry it in your pocket and the clip that comes with it is actually very tight and secure. Obviously, if you don't fit it to your pocket properly you're going to lose it so be careful. It's not hard really. It tracks my steps throughout the day and properly recognises any kind of activity (even doing the ironing is being recognised as light activity, as it should!). Sleep tracking is a bit of a gimmick but it's still nice to track the sleeping patterns over time. The dashboard on the site is awesome, lots of stuff to keep you motivated to move more. I use it with Myfitnesspal to track calorie intake which syncs with fitbit. If you're keen to track your fitness, this is a cool device!

    Pedometer, fundamentally

    • Written by from New York

I was excited to receive this as a gift, but the sleep tracking feature was very disappointing. It's really a pedometer.

A lot of time-consuming manual work is required to make use of the fitness features, and there is an alarming amount of personal features that needs to be shared with the company. I would stay away from this product and stick to simpler devices.

We have 2 fitbits one and we love them, but

    • Written by from Clarence Creek

Love the tracking of our days activities, steps, stairs and food.
The night tracking could be more precise, like the Jawbone Up.... How long it takes to fall asleep, light sleep, deep sleep and how many times you wake up...
The Fitbit one only sees how long to fall asleep, awakened xx times and frankly not very precise. But if you are snoring this will count as waking up??? But if you are on the other side of the coin and you don't move to wake the snoring person then you have night without awakenings???
Between the 3 I tried the fitbit is the best so far. Can't wait to see who will make a better one.
    Looking to get the scale.
Also, not enough compatibility with Android or non-Bluetooth 4.0 devices.
