    Great headset and works with Macbook too!

    There's little mention of it here, but this headset also works great with my 13" Macbook Air 2013 model, I'm doing Skype calls all the time and it works great.

    Excellent Bluetooth till now

    even thou the spec says that is not compatible with the IPhone 5s it was working just fine and the way it was suppouse to until the upgrade to IOS8 and the problem stared is not working with IOS8 at all so be aware of this .

    Not sure why some have rated it too low. I am using it for more than a year and no complaints at all. The best feature I like is it connects to 2 phones simultaneously and let you receive calls from any. I have my personal cell phone and have to carry office blackberry and it works out great.

    One day it got "dead". There was no response at all. I called Plantronics help line and they suggested to update the unit by connecting to computer and download the latest software version. Did that and it became alive. Still working great.

    Hard to Say it is Good

    I replaced a Plantronics M155 with the Plantronics Voyager after having poor bluetooth headset performance issues on phone calls (over cellular or wireless access points). No improvement. It is either the iPhone 5s, or local wireless interference. I hoped the improved tech of the Legend would help. It has not.

    Not bad but not great.

    I have both a 5 and 5s. I have two of these headsets and the charging case. Both headsets are pairs to both phones and one is in the charging case so I am never without my headset.
    When they are working well, they sound good and last a long time. The charging case ensures my headset is never dead and at least the case takes a micro USB to charge it.
    Often times though I get poor call quality if the headset is in my left ear and the phone is on my right side belt. This seems worse when am using my phone for web or other wifi related functions at the same time as a call. I have replaced phones thinking its a phone, headsets thinking it's the headset. I have concluded it's simply a case of the headset not being fully compatible with these phones. The firmware in either phone and headset does not seem to matter.
    I would not recommend this product to apple users.

    Fairly Comfortable, Works better than expected, Sensor works perfectly

    This is the first on ear headset I've had in about ten years, and these are my first thoughts

    Comfort and Sound Quality 4.5 out of 5

    1. It's a little tricky to hook behind your ear when you're in a hurry, not too tricky, but a little
    2. Its pretty comfortable, but feels a little odd, it reminds me of when I first started wearing glasses, I expect that in a few days it will feel natural
    3. It doesnt "plug" into your ear, but the sound quality is bettter than I expected and exceeds my requirements, not having something shived into my ear canal will keep it cleaner, make it easier to share (if I have to), and makes it more comfortable.

    Sensor Function - 4 out of 5

    There was a post in this forum that said the sensor didn't work. The problem he described is real, but it's seems to be more of an iphone issue, than a headset issue. When you take the headset off it doesnt sever the bluetooth connection. With Siri there is a little bluetooth icon on the bottom left that you can touch to select the phone if that is a problem for you. It seems that other apps like music require that you turn Bluetooth off on the phone (easy enough). If you turn it back on and put the headset on, it reconnects straight away. This is marginally fiddly, but I can live with it very easily.

    I was really pleased that the sensor function works with itunes on my mac, though again, if you put it down, and you want to play music through your speakers, you'll need to do a little bit of manual fiddling about ... I'm OK with that, because the mono sound through one ear is surprisingly ok, and seems more office friendly. The guy at the next desk can tell I'm listening to music, but isn't annoyed by it. (I havent tried listening to any death-metal yet though :-))

    Connectivity and Bluetooth Schenannigans

    As far as connectivity goes, I'm giving this 4.5 out of 5. Even after doing a number of "unfreindly" things to the connection (putting headset down, disconnecting, updating firmware, connecting to audio from a Windows VM running in fusion), I then had to manually reconnect to the headset by going into preferences and selecting the "sound input tab", before it would work the way I wanted, BUT, compared to other bluetooth headsets I've worked with over the years, it has so far been a stellar performer.

    The boom mike is kinda obvious from the side, so you still look like a dork, then again, maybe that's just me.

    Sensor is less than perfect with iPhone 5s

    When you put on the headset while making a call, it switches from phone audio to headset audio. Good, I like that.
    When you put the headset back on your desk it switches back to phone audio. Good.
    The problem is that it does not switch all of your other iPhone audio back to the iPhone.
    For instance, if I put the headset down on my desk and walk in the other room and try to use SIRI, the audio is still connected to the headset. Not good. Also, any other sounds on the iPhone are still connected to the headset including all apps and Music.
    This makes the sensor almost useless because you have to remember to turn off the headset when you leave your office for another room.

    Wow, this is what I have been waiting for

    Works best with the Mac with the Plantronics Spokes application and the BC-300 USB adapter. Don't pair it with the Mac, pair it with the BC-300.

    I wish Apple sold the UC model, it comes in bundle with everything that you need.

    Integration with Skype works really well. Allows you to have separate sound output for music and use the headset for calls only. iTunes will mute when making or taking calls.

    Headset pairs with computer and cell phone(I think it may even do 2 cell phones in addition to the computer). Just noticed that my iTunes will mute when I receive a call on the cell phone as well.

    Call quality could be better

    I had a 4 year old Voyager Pro before I replaced it with the Legend. The call quality could be better and is below par compared to the Voyager Pro. Although updating the firmware, the sound still has some static and crackles when I move my phone on the opposite side of my body. Plantronics customer support insists that this is a bluetooth technology limitation and happens to all bluetooth headsets even when I told them my old Voyager Pro didn't have the same issue. Still the most comfortable bluetooth headset out there and the many features work well. Caller announce is awesome as well as the ability to answer calls by simply wearing the Legend. A2DP sounds good. Voice command is also useful. Oh, and I can still use the phone's native voice commands; Siri, S-Voice, etc.., unlike what Mark claimed in his review.

    Absolutely the best BT headset out there

    I wear it all day, and I mean all day. I wake up, take a shower, put it on and the only time I take it off is when I go to bed at night. Every. Day. It's that comfortable.

    It works on my iPhone 4s and iPad 3 and Mac Pro. I can use it simultaneously on any 2 of the 3 devices. Siri works great. I can even use Dialogue (app) on Mac to make phone calls on iPhone and use the headset. OS X Mavericks dictate works great with the headset. I can't find any fault.

    I listen to audiobooks, radio, watch movies. Sound quality is adequate, better than I expected. Definitely not Hi-fi but it's not meant to be.

    At last - as perfect a headset as you can get!

    You name it - I've tried it - Bose, Jawbone, BlueAnt, Jabra Wave, Sennheizer, PLT Marquee - and finally I have a headset I think will be a keeper. My main issues have been my sensitive ears - the Marquee and the Jawbone were too fat for ear-comfort. The Bose had no earloop and kept falling out when I walked. The Jabra was great but too delicate - the bendy bit broke.
    I was holding out for headsets with micro-USB and really tried the Legend as a last resort, knowing it had a magnetic clip. This is actually a bonus - it was always fiddly fitting the micro-USB plug in all the others. It does mean I'll need to purchase another magnetic clip for the car, but cheap enough to do so.
    Sound quality is great, love the auto address-book name announce, love the range, love the comfort, love the "Answer' voice command. Talk-time is great. Time will tell, but for now, I'm a huge fan - it IS a legend!

    Excellent product

    I have bought many bluetooth headsets over the years and have found this one to be the very best. It syncs quickly, has very long standby and talk time and is a brilliant way to listen to audiobooks and podcasts without the hassle of cables. As I mentioned before, I have used many bluetooth headsets, all in the £50+ range from well known manufacturers, this is by far the best one I have used. It charges quickly, sounds great and is very comfortable. Talk/listening time is as good as that stated by Plantronics.

    Impressive Bluetooth Headset

    I saw the Voyager Legend at the Apple Store and bought it because of the Caller Announce feature. And it did not disappoint. Caller Announnce worked flawlessly with my iPhone 5. Voice Commands to answer or reject calls, awesome! Sound quality is great too. I bought the charger case for it and voila, 14 hours more of talk time + the 7 hours that headset is already capable of. My only gripe is that updating the firmware was a pain because the supplied mini USB cable is not capable of data transfer. It took a few tries before realizing the cable was the culprit.

    Poor sound quality - disappointed

    Tired of my colleagues complaining about the terrible voice quality they would hear when using my iPhone headset, I decided to shell out the $100 for the Voyager bluetooth headset. Unfortunately the voice quality (what the listener on the other end hears) is not very good. I get people saying I sound robotic and digitized. I always have the phone on my desk and am rarely more than 3 feet away from the phone so I don't know what could account for the terrible voice quality. As far as how they sound to my ears, they sound decent but not nearly as good as just putting the phone up to my ear - which is exactly how I'll have to make phone calls from now on once I return this device back to the Apple store from whence it came. Disappointed.

    Not Compatible!

    I am currently using a iphone 5 and this bluetooth does not work. i replaced the bluetooth twice and still doesnt work. for some reason iOS 6 devices dont work well with new bluetooth devices. come on apple if its not one thing its another.

    Plantronics keep getting better,

    I use the telephone so much in work that a good headset is a major boon. Over the last few years I have tried several of the Plantronics headsets including Bluetooth, DECT, office and mobile designs. All have proved extremely ergonomic and comfortable and the Legend builds on this by bringing together and adding various small features from the rest of their range that add up to a lot:

    * The ability to pair two phones (also present in other models such as the Pro UC) means that I can use one unit to take and make calls on office phone and my mobile.

    * Background noise cancellation is even better, partly thanks to an extra microphone which helps to pick up and cancel out background sound.

    * The introduction of an on/off switch (as opposed to a button that needed to be held down) makes it faster and easier to switch on and off - surprisingly useful.

    * If the phone rings, putting the earpiece on will direct the call to the earpiece and calls can be answered by saying 'answer'.

    * The unit is slimmer and slightly lighter than the Pro UC, which was itself a very easy on the ear unit.

    It is hard to knock any of the Plantronics models but the Legend manages to take the design forward to the extent that the sheer feel of the unit is even more harmonious. Voice recognition for pulling up names from address books is good, battery life is improved and the earpiece is incredibly comfortable on the ear. I have tried so many units that either fall off the ear or constantly remind of their presence but I had to touch my ear to check that the Legend was still there.

    There are other features such as 'Vocalist' that I will probably never get into and the key experience for me is that I use it without being aware of it. It performs its task unobtrusively and efficiently.

    Great design, Great button functions, Great voice quality, OK music quality

    I'm on a mission to find the best Bluetooth headset out there. My uses are at the desk so I can type while I'm on the phone, in the car to take calls, and on dog walks to listen to music and podcasts.

    Two issues with it:

    1. The sound quality is fine for phone calls, but not too great for listening to music and NPR. I know a little mono headset like this can't do everything, but Bose and B&O headsets have much better sound quality. Problems with Bose is the the headset is UGLY, materials are cheap, the buttons don't function well (sloppy on/off and volume). The B&O doesn't play music and I don't like the in-ear design. My dog bit it off after 2 weeks of buying it. $350 down the drain). I also tried Jabra and Jawbone. Didn't like either of those.

    2. There's bulk behind the ears. It gets slightly uncomfortable for hours of wearing it, and my glasses won't stay on straight.

    But I can live with those . . .

    Great features:

    - Beautiful design
    - Great magnetic charge connector and fast charge
    - Love the toggle volume button
    - Takes about 5 seconds to set up with Bluetooth (I have an iPhone 4s)
    - When you get a call, just say "Answer" or "Ignore" and that's it!
    - Long boom so my voice is clearer to my calls (they tell me).

    Before this I had a Plantronics A170 Marque that I loved because it was a nice looking, discreet, lozenge, but the sound was really bad. My calls said it sounded like I was in a tin can and I kept having to repeat myself so they could understand.

    This is definitely a keeper (until Bose or B&O does a redesign).

    Works great, including voice command by button press

    I don't know what 'Mark M' is talking about. The user's manual states clearly you can voice dial using the phone's own voice feature by pressing the Call button, which is the button at the back of the microphone boom, for two seconds. That brings up voice dial via the iPhone's 'voice control' function. Works perfectly on my iPhone 4. The headset performs exactly as I need it to. The sensor feature is a nice bonus. You can keep the headset connected to the phone but leave it on your desk when you don't need it. When you get a call, put the headset on your ear and the audio is transferred from the handset to the headset. Beats what I used to have to do which was tell a caller to hang on while I put on and connect my headset. I recommend not bothering with the Vocalyst feature.
