    Great concept, poor design

    • Written by from West Deptford

Bought this case/keyboard for my girlfriend along with the iPad, both from the Apple Store. After 2 months, one of the plastic clips that hold the iPad in place cracked, rendering the case useless. The clips are extremely delicate, and sliding the iPad into the brackets is not very intuitive. If the iPad is not precisely lined up with the brackets, they will crack.

    Dangerous for your hands!

    • Written by from Heathmont

Really disappointed with the design/manufacturing ! I bought this keyboard for my wife. She stored it in her purse and , when trying to take it out from it, cut herself in her two fingers. There is a part of the keyboard so thin that if you press against it, acts as if it was a razor blade. Be careful!

    Not for iPad Air!

    • Written by from London

I had one of these for a regular iPad with retina display, and it worked amazingly well (until both got stolen). Bought the same for the new iPad Air, and although it works well as a keyboard, it doesn't actually close as a cover, but leaves a large gap of about half a cm, and the small bar above the keyboard marks the screen. I returned the item and got a new one - same problem. If you look at the images provided you can see this must be a design flaw: the side view (image 3) closes for the iPad, but you can see a gap if you click on the same image for the iPad Air. Returning this one, and will wait for proper alternative or re-design. Such a shame as I really liked it for the iPad.

    sadly lacking

    • Written by from New York

I love the idea of this and for the maybe 2 weeks that it worked it was great. however it stopped working very soon after buying it and logitech customer service have been treating me like a criminal. Im basically giving up on attempting to get this replaced as logitech are just making it way too hard, and I strongly urge anyone considering buying this product if they can afford to throw 100USD away. if you can, then by all means roll the dice... maybe youll get lucky and get one of the units that doesnt become dysfunctional almost immediately.

great keyboard, but poses a danger to the ipad!

    • Written by from oakland

I'm on my second logitech keyboard, after the first was stolen along with my first iPad a few months back. I do a lot of my work on the iPad, and have found this keyboard indispensable to note-taking, along with AudioNote, which I use for interviews as a part of my job several times a week. However, the stand feature of the keyboard has worn out after only a few months of use, now twice in a row, meaning that i can put it in the groove, and it will stay standing... until it falls over. I thought the original time was a fluke, but now it's happened a second time. My iPad hasn't been damaged by this--yet. But it can't be good for it to be falling all the time, and so I can no longer trust the keyboard. What this means is that I'm now going to start carrying around the keyboard , while keeping the iPad in an actual case that will actually protect it. This defeats the purpose. It would be one thing if this happened after a year or two, but I've had this product three or four months... and it's not cheap.

    Ultrathin

    • Written by from Arlington

Tis is a poor design. The attachment is similar to the smart cover but the keyboard is heavy. If you drop it, and you will, it will break off the keys and they will not assist in replacing keys.

    Logitech Ultra thin protective cover....

    • Written by from Hennock.

I have been using the Logitech Ultrathin key board cover for approximately four months.
As a concept it is brilliant. In use, as a key board it is a wonderful addition to the iPad...
    However.... !
I bought the Logitech Ultrathin to add some protection to my iPad screen when not in use. The clam shell design of this key board seemed to fit the bill until I noticed that the gutter part of the key board, into which the iPad is placed when in use, has damaged the screen of my iPad. I now have a faint scratch line appearing across the screen.
I have made an appointment with the chaps at my local Apple store and I am hoping they can both sort my own machine, and perhaps direct the folk at Logitech R+D to resolve this design fault.

Nice idea and look - scratched my iPad

    • Written by from Toledo

I really like the look of the keyboard and it attaches nicely to my iPad. The problem is that it scratched the protective overlay on my iPad. For as good as Logitech products have been, this one is a huge disappointment.

    Nice Idea, Poor Execution

    • Written by from Chalfont

Dettached keys out of the box and right shift key only partially funcitional.

The magnets are weak and do not hold the cover in place when openning.

The keyboard had a nice tactile quality and typing was easy even for my bigger hands.

This a great idea, but not executed to an appropriate quality level.

    disappointing versus the alternatives

    • Written by from New York

there is a delay between typing and stuff showing up on the screen which is annoying, and the keys are a lot less comfortable than the zagg pro plus, and the keyboard does not have backlighting either. just too rickety to get comfortable with.

    Rubber Strip ripped off

    • Written by from Inuvik

I bought this keyboard and it types well and holds it's charge. But and this is a Big But!!!
3 days after I bought the keyboard the rubber strip that holds it in place and keeps your IPad from getting scratched. Peeled off and all the sticky backing got all over my I Pad screen.
Very poor design. They should have an extra in the package.

    Didn't work- really disappointed

    • Written by from Sydney

Was very excited to have this delivered from the Apple Store yesterday. Unfortunately, it must have been faulty as it didn't work. Rang Logitech support who didn't even try to support and said it must be faulty as it is a plug and play and should simply work and just told me to return it to where I bought it. Returning online through apple now as within 14 day period. But really disappointing as I have been waiting for this product to come to Australia. Logitech said that the product should have had a sticker on it, which it didn't - and it came out of a sealed box, which makes me think that there is a problem with quality control with these. So watch out. Would obviously give 0 stars as it didn't work at all, but that isn't an option.
